Nellie's Wanderers is up (it's been over 12 hours now, struggling with the always tough decision of who should be the last goalkeeper taking in the draft).

Then, ChrisSuttonsSlippers can close us out with the final pick. Ironic that having been forced to make most of his picks during the middle of the night, fraser will get to set the time for the post-draft free for all.... Speaking of which, we definitely need that last pick posted in this thread so we have a time stamp on it.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but anything between 7am and 9am in Australia would do the trick. That way it would be evening on the US east coast, late afternoon on the west coast and afternoon in the UK. Why don't we just schedule it for 12 hours from now--that would be Saturday.

10:00am Saturday East Coast US time should work for everyone. That would be 24 hours from now.

I don't currently plan to make any moves so matters not to me (although I could be bluffing and trying to trick all of you). Sooner is better than later just so the window is open.

Dennis needs to join the league on FPL, if anyone is in touch with him.

On the time issue, Dennis is currently sleeping, so we won't hear from him for 6 or 7 hours if recent times indicate anything, or perhaps later since it will be Saturday morning and not a weekday. If we're going to choose a time that works for everyone, then waiting until around then makes since if that isn't too late for fraser. Obviously, if fraser or dennis aren't interested in making immediate picks, then the window of time when interested owners are awake gets a lot larger.

As an alternative, would everyone agree to experiment with a waiver format based on random selection for the picks. Since I'm not going to make an immediate pick, I'd offer to be the waiver coordinator. We'd set a time -- at least 24 hours from now -- and anyone interested would send me by then any selections that they want to make when the window opens. If only one owner wants the player, then they get the player. If two or more owners want a player, then I would use a random generator of some sort to decide who wins the player. You can submit choices as individual picks that would each be processed if possible or as joint picks that would only be processed if all work/win.

After the deadline, I'd post the winning transactions, and then we'd return to normal practice of first come, first serve for everything that follows. It would basically take out of the equation the race to post first and any inconveniences that might come along with that depending on when the window opens.

**Obviously, if you think you've got the quickest stopwatch and trigger finger in the west, then you're assuming you'll win the race and it may not be too your advantage to enter into a coin flip....

Waiver system seems interesting but would create another time problem for open transfers

Based on old rules Suttonsslippers controls it. Did he forget he has the last pick?

Not sure what the time problem would be for open transfers. I guess there would be a randomness for the players being cut now being available, but otherwise everyone would have an equal chance to get anyone that they want. I honestly haven't paid a lot of attention to the new adds in the past week, but historically there have only been one or two who fall in the "race" category each year. They rest will happen without any issue,, or need for discussion, which my propsal would take care of by allowing the claim to be made anytime that is convenient. Anyway, just a thought.

CSS knows he is up, but was waiting for input on when to start the clock. Seems a respectful way to approach under the existing rules. If he does it now, Dennis is middle of the night. Who knows if Dennis cares and will do anything?
