Kind of useless. I mean , who pays for streaming? But did NBC grab the rights for NASCAR? I noticed that they are showing all the Daytona 500 events this weekend. That would be good as it would free up FS1's schedule (i think, altho I have no clue when nascar season begins and ends)
Best of my knowledge is that ESPN had second half of the season and non renewed and that is what NBC picked up. Fox has February to the 4th of July and NBC now has the 4th to November with a much greater streaming flexibility than ESPN could have had in their deal.
NASCAR is from February to November. The Daytona 500 starts the season in February. Many tracks have two races per year, including Daytona. This weekend's race is at Daytona but it is not the Daytona 500.
I am still wondering what's going to happen to Bundesliga in Canada, I posted a tread in the Canada forum but no replies Fox Deportes is heavily advertising Bundesliga but no Fox Deportes available on Canadian TV.
I saw an on-screen ad during the Fox Deportes River-Guarani match fro Bundesliga starting in August, so that would lead me to believe we will see some games on this channel.
There was also a RB Salzburg vs Bremen preseason match on Fox Deportes this past Saturday so I think you are right.
I read somewhere that the opening game on Friday afternoon (bayern-hamburg) will be on FS2 because of golf. If that's true, it's a freaking joke.
I don't know about the season opener, but my on-screen guide shows the German Supercup (Bayern-Wolfsburg) on August 1 on Fox Deportes, but not on any of the English speaking channels. FS1 has NASCAR 30 minutes after the game but FS2 has "cliff diving" listed during the entirety of the match and FS+ shows rugby listed (I didn't investigate whether this was live rugby or a replay and I wouldn't know enough about rugby to know whether it is an important match or not.) Hopefully, the shows on fs2 or fs+ are just placeholders, as it would be a disappointment for most if the Supercup was deportes only.
According to WorldSoccerTalk, the SuperCup is indeed only on FoxSoccer-Plus (as far as English language is concerned). It gets worse: the opener on Friday the 14th (Bayern v Hamburg) also on "Plus" as well as the top 9:30am Saturday match (Bremen v Schalke). Looking at the schedule, there are plenty of "TDB" for Fox to still place on one of the 2 "big" networks but first glance tells us they will be using Bundesliga to promote FoxSoccer-Plus. "Disappointing" is the understatement of the season (so far)..... http://worldsoccertalk.com/bundesli...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer SA www.soccertvblog.com
What golf rights does FOX have that weekend? Also folks need to manage their expectations for the Bundesliga on FS1 - it's going to be primarily on Fs2 and FS+
One of the majors is being played that week (The PGA Championship) but FOX doesn't have the rights. So this seems like a false rumor.
Is there any word on what commentators are going to be used? I enjoyed the international feed GOL used with the likes of Alan Fountain and Phil Bonnie, but I'm afraid we're going to get Eric Wynalda or Brian McBride.
FOX certainly won't be flying commentators over to Germany to call matches. And I can't see them using American talent to call matches from a studio either - so you're probably safe with the global English feed.
http://awfulannouncing.com/2015/fox...ox-for-new-two-hour-sunday-morning-block.html Awful Announcing is reporting that Fox will move it's 11AM ET FS1 Fox NFL Kickoff show to regular FOX adding a extra hour of NFL Pregame to Fox. The big factor in this is that this now frees up space to have the two Sunday Bundesliga games at 9:30 and 11:30 on FS1
It is US open women's amateur championship http://www.foxsports.com/golf/story/fox-sports-2015-usga-championship-tv-schedule-020415 So it seems bayern fans get screwed over ladies' golf.
Here is the screenshot for the guide at the time of the supercup. FS2 shows Red Bull Cliff Diving and it doesn't even look like a live event. Fox Soccer Plus doesn't have information available yet. The "fútbol" shown on Fox Deportes is indeed the SuperCup game. Fox Sports 1 (channel 219 on DTV so not available to be part of the screenshot) has live NASCAR at 7 am pacific so that makes sense as to why the game wouldn't be on FS1. But seriously non-live cliff diving over German SuperCup? Either the game will make its way onto FS2 or this is some sort of ploy to either force Fox Soccer Plus onto providers' sports packs (as it is on TWC) or force people to subscribe to FS Plus. And if you want total access to Bundesliga you have to pay for FS Plus and then pay for FS2Go on top of that??? And unless things change, FS2Go is not HD quality when streaming it on your TV via AirPlay (and I assume the same for chromecast). Unlike FSGO which looks HDTV quality when air playing (which I did frequently before Deportes went HD on DTV recently), FS2Go looks pretty bad. I don't (yet) subscribe to FS Plus so I airplayed PSG-Benfica from FS2Go onto my big screen this past weekend and it looked pretty bad.
Unlike most Fox Sport station listings, which usually have a window of 5 days or so, their listing for Fox Sports Plus goes out for several weeks, and from the timing of the updates I have seen there, that is where WorldSoccerTalk is getting their information. For those who want to speculate less and see what Bundeliga is being shown on their pay channel, you can find it on http://www.foxsoccerplus.com/schedule
So the game is actually at 2:30 pm eastern, but the onscreen guide shows Fox Deportes showing the game at 9:30 am eastern. And there's a baseball game on the onscreen guide on Fox Deportes at 4 eastern, so it wouldn't appear that Fox Deportes would show this game at the proper time.
I think it's a bit too early in the process to be freaking out over it, worldsoccertalk article or not.
Stuff like this kind of makes all the people wishing for the death of Gol TV seem shortsighted. Hate on Gol TVs amatuer production value, but you at least knew you were getting 4-5 games a round with European commentators. Anyone who thinks Fox will give Bundesliga anywhere close to NBC level Premeir League coverage, or even Gol TV level coverage is quite delusional.
