Playing a good team just behind us in the standings in 90 degree heat at their house.

I'd take a tie. Lade and Wallace need to perform again for us to have a shot.

Shut down Kaka and you shut down Orlando, they don't have much else. Easier said than done but Dax was at his best against NE.

I like this matchup becuase it is really about shutting down Kaka and both Felipe/Dax will do a good job of that.

Orlando has needed a true striker for a while. Rivas has a ton of talent but is just crazy and can't keep it together. Rochez apparently sucks. Kaka is still great, just not enough attacking help outside of Brek.

As for the lineup, would expect mostly the same.

    --------------BWP------------
    Grella-------Sacha-----Sam
    ---------Felipe----Dax
    Wallace DP Miazga Lade

Hoping for another tolerable game from Lade and Wallace. But as long as we continue to be strong down the middle, we're a tough team to beat. Grella continuing his very good season for us.

At least one defensive reinforcement is on his way as Ouimette returns to the fold.

    Complete story

the PBP man was saying that the CR forward was making ouimette spin like a top.

He's no Miazga.:D Ouimette is depth and Costa Rica forwards have been known to spin more than few defenders. But, at least we know there is someone behind the starters in case one goes down. That said, he's just 23 himself and will likely get better with more seasoning.

Eh. At 23 he doesn't really show anything of real value. If he were highly skilled in any one particular facet of the game (technique, passing, athleticism, positioning, anticipation, etc) then you could say "well he has this tool and/or that tool and with a little time blah blah blah"... but there's nothing I see to his game that stands out.

I'm not sure he's going to be much better than a journeyman MLS guy.

Fair enough. I think he's good enough as a bench option. Honestly, in the RBII games he looked fine. It was Jean-Baptiste who was a nightmare, no positional discipline or focus. There may not be any area where he really excels but solid enough I think to be reliable in limited minutes.

We are playing some good ball. It's bouncing our way again. I havn't seen Orlando enough to gauge if we should win or lose, but based on our form, a tie might seem reasonable.

Brek Shea just had surgery for a sports hernia, so he's out for sure. Their best striker just made a total ass of himself in the Gold Cup by missing an open net by a distance roughly the width of the Grand Canyon.

I think we win this one.

So far so good, up 1-0 with a red card to the Lions.

Watched that game live. My jaw hit the floor when he missed that. Didn't do his club any favors in this one either.

    Magic Mike strikes again!

    1. It still surprises me that Sacha K can play... nice goal.
    2. That Red card to Larin might be borderline... but he was late with the challenge.
    3. Miazga keeps on growing.
    4. Thank you Grella for ending the suspense
    5. Thank you FC Dallas for defeating DC Unitos -- just six points behind them with 3 games in hand.

Great result last night. 3 points is 3 points. Missed large segments of the game last night. I work a "night shift" at my job and only saw parts of the game using MSGGO app. I simply don't get why we play worse up a man. They don't necessarily have to score but at least dominate possession. Anyway, big game Tuesday. Will be there.

I can't believe how strong of a CB partnership Miazga and Perrinelle has turned out to be. I think it was mentioned on the broadcast yesterday that we've only lost one game with those two starting. Miazga especially had another great game yesterday.

Sacha looks like he has now adjusted to physicality, speed of play and quality of MLS the past few weeks. He is really playing great

He clearly came in studs up. Any time you go in studs up you are asking the ref to make a tough decision.

Teams sit back and play the counter in that situation and we don't have a true target striker to bring on the field to break the bunker. Additionally we continue to play a 1 striker formation when we should be shifting another body up top for the kill.

If he's open to staying and we don't pay him this off season I'm going to be livid.

It's amazing to me that it literally takes every single player coming from Europe a half season to adjust. You can count on it every time.

    He's playing much much better.

Sascha has been good for quite some time now. His vision is superb and is able to pick out defense splitting passes from a distance. Great attitude, two way player and a leader.

Time for the opencup. I'd like to see Davis get a start in the midfield for some fresh legs and possibly Zizzo for Sam as Sam looked winded. Hopefully Lawrence is back? I think we should try out Ouimelete(Spelling?) at RB as I believe he featured there for Canada at the Gold Cup. He may surprise us all.

    -----------------BWP
    Grellainho--Klejstan--Sam(Zizzo)
    -------------Dax--Davis
    Lawrence-DP-Miazga-Ouim
    ---------------Robles

    Abang and Zizzo/Sam as subs.

jesse marsch in some mad rush to get sam, bwp, and kljestan off the field.
i know grella scored, but dribbling straight ahead is about what he's good for.

You don't think that was the right call? Sam, BWP, and Kljestan have all played a lot of minutes lately, the weather was sweltering, we had a lead on the road, and we have an Open Cup game on Tuesday. Those guys won't survive the summer if Marsch doesn't rotate them whenever possible.

As for Grella, I think there are only three wingers in the entire league who have been more productive than he has this season - Finlay, Castillo, and Sam. So many people are on his case because he isn't a "traditional" winger like Sam, but who cares so long as he's creating goals? And to top it off the dude is only making $60k.

they had a week off, and after the open cup they're off until august (i don't do friendlies).
this should have been a simple game to win. instead, they spent the last twenty minutes getting pounded and were a little lucky orlando didn't tie. at 1-1 it's hard to see how red bulls could have created much, and those points count. he subbed sam in the 58th, bwp in the 70th, and played the last thirteen minutes (not three or four) without his three best guys.
as for grella, he scored when orlando had no one playing defense. it's not about his salary.
look, you can't argue with a win, but i wouldn't make this a habit.
