They could use her presence and experience in their midfield. I was surprised she didn't feature as much for England in the world cup.
I think she is eyeing going to the Flash but if Boston does still hold her right they could work a trade for Sammy Mewis who they have coveted for about a year now.
Next year they could be very dangerous if that is the case. Leroux, Mewis, Sanderson, Williams and Brynjarsdottir.
She's been hanging out at WNY (pic with SMewis on Twitter). I'm sure they would like to have her and she doesn't require an international slot. Just depends on the rights issues with Boston.
Not to be a rumormonger, but I did notice her appearing on a certain WNY player's twitter/instagram a lot and was wondering if the two were dating... (In case you're wondering who, it is someone who played at Apollon Limassol with Sanderson)
Is there anyone who does not think this is Sanderson? Flash about to make a BIG signing! #NWSL— Charlie Flowe (@DjFlowe) July 17, 2015
Why would the SBFC PBP guy be breaking the news though? You'd think it'd be one of the Boston or WNY reporters. (Not saying you're wrong, just a surprising source)
I think the only mystery here is if the Breakers got more than a free pack of hot dogs for her rights.
Maybe the Flash get to trade the rights to Abby Wambach twice because Gulati was convinced she counted as two allocated players.
I have not been impressed with Ashley Nick's play and wondered why she was getting playing time- it seems there has been a bigger picture in place. IMO Mewis for Sanderson is bad for the Flash; unless somehow Mewis to Boston in 2016 is inevitable and she'd be gone anyway. OTOH,if Mewis will be back in WNY for 2016 and beyond, perhaps Spencer or Hamilton or Fields and a draft pick or international slot for Sanderson, if they have an extra one.
Now that you mentioned it, that IS a possibility. Though I doubt that would be advertised as a BIG signing. Less than 6 months ago they hailed Leroux as a franchise player so trading her I think would be kept on the down low.
I wonder if Seattle and Portland might be willing to swap Abby for Sinclair. From Portland's side, Sinclair has struggled to partner with Alex Morgan. Abby and Alex pair together really well. Some might say Sinclair has not looked comfortable at all in Portland. Abby gets to live in her house, play in front of the big crowd, etc. Assuming she'd play. For Seattle, they parlay the rights to Abby, who might not ever decide to actually play in Seattle, for a top player in Sinclair. Sinclair seems a good fit for Seattle's system, and could maybe relax on a team that's not desperate for gobs of goals. Their likely more interested in someone who can play in the scheme. I think of how Leroux was not a natural for Seattle, Sinclair likely would be. Seattle carries so many internationals this might be moot. It just seems good for everyone involved.
I wonder how true this is? Or is it one of those things people say if they don't want to play for a particular team but when the right offer comes along will be willing to move.
How is Lines going to integrate Ayinde, Heyman and Njoya (to a lesser degree), and possibly Sanderson and possibly Andrade? What happens to Fields, Spencer, Eddy, Nick, &/or Frisbie? It would be a whole new team, mid-season. Mewis' and Edwards' roles won't change. Maybe Naimo and Lines have been working in a secret laboratory concocting a whole new strategy for the team. Andrade is a baller, but it will be hard to warm up to her because she punched Abby and has a big mouth. The Columbian I want is Rincon.
