it looks like it's going to be another wet one. i plan on going this week, but i may reconsider if the weather doesn't improve.

carolina got a win last week to follow up their strong spring season. they sit 3rd, and we're 4th in the full season table. should be a good game.

have we heard any updates about pena?

Let's go get 3 points and move into 3rd. Always want to get a positive result on your home games.

    Haven't heard anything about Pena.

Just saw the highlights of the Cosmos game, but man I want to see more of Duke Lacroix. Showed skill on the ball and probably should of had a goal.

He was great, but showed some inexperience too. I can think of two occurrences where if he had a better touch on the ball he would have scored, and two occurrences where if he made a better pass he would have had two assists.

Railhawks is actually one of my favorite names in the NASL.

Unfortunately, the standards in the NASL aren't terribly high. Better than the original MLS, but still not very good.

Personally I think the Railhawks, Silverbacks, and Armada are three of the best names in sports. Railhawks and Silverbacks are a bit more college like, which I think is why I like them. Usually in pro sports you get animal names like bears or lions hear me roar... If you are going to be a bear be the Grizzlies or if you are going to be a cat be the Bengals. You know, put some thought into it. While I have no idea what a Railhawk is, but it sounds badass because it makes me think of railguns.

You need to get food more often. ;)

My daughter had surgery yesterday--very minor, but she was getting uncomfortable--so we left at the half and missed the fun part.

Nice three points. The game shouldn't have been so close, a few open netters missed and problems connecting in the final third. Still I love the three points. LaCroix was very impressive that guy is moving up.

I swear we should have won that game 10-1. Anyways we got the win, and it was a very exciting game. Regan is to the Indy Eleven what Vogel is to the Pacers. He took over and immediately changed how the team plays, and has turned the team into one of the best in the league basically overnight.

This team has a lot of young talent which has to bode well for not only this season but beyond. Wojciech, Lacroix, Brown, Mares, and Pineda are all 23 or younger.

well if we're being honest, they should have had a few more too. maybe 6-4 would have been a reasonable scoreline if either team could finish.
was he even there? kleberson was on the touch line last night. i don't know that i'd recognize regan, but it looked like kleb was the one calling the shots on the sideline. the team congratulated him after the final whistle.

mares kills me. so much skill, but he cannot finish to save his life.

Maybe this could help young Mares and young Rugg.

Regan was there. The team tweeted a picture of him giving Mares a high five from the stands at the end of the game.

I finished watching the game this morning. So much improvement from the spring. The lack of precision remains, and will remain--this is division 2, after all. But the team's overall approach no longer seems so terribly naive. It turns out they're fully capable of passing the ball through the midfield, of executing penetrating runs, of finding the open man. They just can't finish. Mares especially. He played a good passing game last night, but, oh, those chances he wasted.

Woj had a solid game. Not only the goal, which was exactly the kind of goal he was signed to score. He made excellent passes on the two second-half chances that Mares missed--the cross on the first one, and the penultimate pass to Lacroix on the second. It's early days yet, but he just might turn into something.
