Good call! Klingenberger also connected nicely with Lloyd on the coffin nail goal against Germany. One of my favorite players to watch, too. It's so weird watching soccer when our players are the guys that have a technical/athletic edge. Players like Lloyd, Morgan and Rapinoe are really fun to watch.
I'm so bummed I missed the women's team arriving yesterday at LAX!!!! Since I work there, I would have been right there at the plane.
I missed him because I was out of town. I was here for Beckham. That was nuts, there was a ton of people here for him.
Really enjoying the presser. I don't recall the same kind of enthusiasm coming from David Beckham. SG seems genuinely excited about being here.
It's crazy to think about what a different place the league is in overall between now and Bexapalooza!
Someone in the Nats thread says that they have it on good authority (whatever that means) that Morales is starting. I hope they are wrong.
I also have now read multiple articles saying Gyasi is the potential break out star of the tournament. ESPN goes as far to say he might be gone from LA at the end of the season. http://www.espnfc.us/team/united-st...nited-states-national-team-things-at-gold-cup I hope he keeps a sound head under pressure.
No Omar?? WTF?? Are they trying to cap tie Alvarado... I also am not sold on Yedlin as a starting midfielder (or defender). No Omar??
Gyasi earned that start. Happy for him. Pissed about Omar. Beyond the fact of his form Alvarado has looked poor more than good and Honduras is tall and physical. That would seem to argue for Omar Gonzalez.
Tough result for Panama in this group. I can't see any team in this group advancing without 3 points against Haiti. Good news for us perhaps, Penedo might be back with the Galaxy sooner than thought.
Zardes hardly touching the ball. But let me do my Lexi imitation: set pieces, set pieces, set pieces.
Guzan has been really strong. Probably won't be talked about, but he is stopping almost all crosses before they even reach any Honduran players.
Zardes has been sort of meh. He has not had much opportunities so far but when he does get the ball he needs to be aggressive and put the defense on their back foot. Hope for a more cohesive second half from the whole team.
Zardes is probably wondering why Johnson is consistently further up the pitch than he is. I like to see attacking full backs, but Zardes seems to be playing more left back than him
You have to figure that is part of the game plan for the US though to get Johnson forward like that. Zardes just needs to be sharper.
Dempsey jogs around every match, does very little in terms of passing or defending, and yet he consistently scores goals. It's so frustrating. I don't know how to describe it because I am complaining about a guy who scores, but it seems like he does nothing.
