In the interesting trivia department, tonight's match will be the 352nd Red Bull match, which equals the number of games the club played while known as the Metrostars.

The WWC game ends before the Red Bulls start.

The Red Bulls lost 2:1 and Shep Messing said we should have been given a penalty kick.

I'd like to chalk a lot of that one up to fatigue, but one thing you can't gloss over is how bad Lade was. I've never even been a big Duvall fan but I'm missing him already.

Agreed. Can't give that much space and hope to close fast. Especially their most dangerous guy and his weird hairdo. Davis is the future along with a bang. Hope we can keep them.

I had figured we'd lose do to fatigue, so the result doesn't bother me as much. But the overweight ref missed 1 maybe 2 penalty calls. Lade was bad. And he's consistently bad. Sure hope someone on RBII can play defense.

LAde looks real bad. Can see why Peke didn't even dress the kid the last two years for most games.

This game was rough... Clearly a tired bunch.

Kamara absolutely killed us though. Every time they played it directly to him, and not only did he win every header, but he managed to pass it perfectly to a teammate. Marsch correctly switched Sacha to DM to help challenge his domination in the air. If we play CBus in the playoffs, we have to play Sacha back at DM, and we hopefully will have Zubar healthy. Zubar and Miazga are our best two in the air and Zubar would have helped play against Kamara this game.

Other than that, there were two incredibly easy handballs to see yet the ref managed not to call them. The linesman should have had the first one, and the ref should have had the 2nd. Hell, that same linesman should have had both of them.

Lade is brutal... We need to make the switch to Davis or go with McLaws. Don't know why they aren't huge fans of McLaws because every game I've watched of the USL team, he's looked good.

How has Lade looked in USL games?

I've only watched a couple of the games and Lade didn't play in one of them. The other I believe he played at holding mid early in the season.

That said, I did watch Lade against Atlanta at right back and he was very good in the USOC. He's just not consistent enough. He got murdered against the Cosmos when he played left back and got killed against CBus at right back.

There's too many big chances given up. Perhaps Jesse gives him another game or two, but if he's not showing big improvement then I don't think you'll see him for a while. Just like Dane Richards.

I think the message is Lade will sink or swim as an outside back. He's pretty atrocious on the left, but has in the past played better on the right. I guess he threw a shoe in this match. It doesn't bode well for his long term future, because at this point he looks like an offseason cut.

He played most of his childhood and reserve/USL games as a center back and/or CDM. So positionally he's not accustomed to playing as an outside back.

And unfortunately he's not physically suited to play CB or CDM at the MLS level.

Agreed, at least on the CB. Talent-wise he's behind too many players for the central midfield positions. I think he could be a good utility midfielder in MLS, but the clock is ticking.
