And because other teams in the West won, we're still 8th on PPG. Sheez. It's panning out as we expected with a tight West and a not so lively East. Let me put it to you this way: 9 out of 10 East teams would be sitting BELOW us at our 8th place on PPG. Only 1 Eastern team (DCU) would rank in the top 8 of the West. Yikes. Games against other teams in the West at home are must wins. We've also played 2-5 more games than other teams in the West. That said, we're not that far behind in PPG behind Portland and SJ. Upcoming Schedule & LA related asks: 7/5 - San Jose @ Portland (draw would be great) 7/10 - Houston @ San Jose (go Dynamo!) 7/11 - Portland @ Philly (go Union!) 7/11 - FCD @ Orlando (go Orlando!) 7/11 - Seattle @ Chicago (go Magee's team!) 7/11 - RSL @ Colorado (draw) 7/12 - SKC @ Vancouver (draw)
Stefan leaving is a bit of a surprise, he was a good guy, but I get it. We almost certainly need some kind combination of cap/roster space. If GdS is coming then his playing time was going to take a nose dive. I know it helps LA, but I do like our FO policy of trying to do the right thing.
I have a feeling that we weren't trying to add Dos Santos, but rather trying to replace Ishizaki. Bruce must've known for a while.
Great game. Gioinco threatened early with a few smart runs. But, not much in second half. P.S. Ishi gone?!!
I missed all but the last goal and also I missed this man's intro. Was out watching fireworks with the family.
Ishi's official goodbye... Galaxy family Saying goodbye is difficult. Since coming to your club last season, I immediately felt your unwavering support and grew to love this team, city and its fans. You have helped me and my family feel like we have become part of yours. Thank you for your constant love and dedication to us on and off the field. This is a decision that is rooted in something more important than the sport itself: family. My family is the most important thing and I will always have their best interest in mind, even though it means making a choice as difficult as this. I will miss the beautiful goals we scored, the screaming fans at StubHub Center and the inseparable bond between our team. I am honored and humbled to have been a part of the team that helped the Galaxy make history by becoming the first team to win five MLS Cups. I look forward to cheering on the Galaxy continuing to set new records. The memories I have here will always be some of the greatest of my life. I am proud to have represented you all over the past year and a half and even prouder to be considered a part of your Galaxy family. From me and my entire family: Thank you. Just got home and saw the result. What a great game, but saddened to hear Ishizaki is leaving us. He had a really rough start to the season, but has picked up his game, and now he is leaving. Thanks for last year Ishi!
no one in britain cares, if you asked british people who did the usa get their independance from I would wager more then 50% of my people wouldnt know. lol during the summer time we have these cheezy adverts in our super markets to sell american style products (BBQ stuff) and its like help the americans celebrate the 4th of July yeeeeehaaaaaa lol
Been off-grid since last Friday night. Yesterday was my first full day back, and I've been trying to catch up on all my other responsibilities. I'll get back to reading the threads I've missed... but this is my take on the match: http://www.lagconfidential.com/2015/7/5/8895057/positives-and-negatives-toronto-fc-at-la-galaxy Lot of good stuff in this match, but the Omar-less shut-out was the highlight for me.
I'm with you here. He did get grabbed, but If he wants to be savvy and keep getting the calls, he needs to keep those legs moving or maybe just stay on his feet for a few games - otherwise the referee pendulum is going to swing far in the opposite direction and he's going to have a tough time getting any calls. He certainly rides through a challenge just fine outside the box.
I thouroughly enjoyed this match. I had not been to a game for a while. The vide was great, I enjoyed the tail gate and the food trucks are a nice new touch. Play wise, the team as a whole was well organized. It was great to see Keanne get a few open play goals. The mids were great and the defenders were solid. Leo made a couple of lunges that were risk but they worked out. This is a good team. Its a damned shame Ishi is leaving because the team can always use solid depth. Its a crazy season ahead with lots of games and lots of traveling.
So, TO, we will see your Sebastian and raise you with our Sebastian. Seriously, Giovinco was a force of nature in the first half, but it looked me like after the second Keane goal, he threw in the towel. He was essentially invisible the whole second half of the game. And I had not realized that Cap'n Dan had joined Greg's staff at TFC. With, Vanney, Frazier and Calichman they have 3/4 of one of the best back lines in LAG history. I just wish that Greg would go for a full set and hire Caligiuri, if for no other reason then to get him out of the broadcast booth.
Not the shot stopper Penedo is, but I think he commands the box better. There were one or two challenges that I think might have been more problematic for Jamie that Brian handled well.
I remember a music hall chairman explaining it this way, An Englishman, no matter where he is, is always an Englishman. A Foreigner, no matter where he is, is always a foreigner.
So many dropped points over the first part of the season.... As you sew, so shall you reap. I fear we will live to regret that.
This is my concern. He probably already has a reputation among refs that he goes down very easy. It does not take much for refs to label players. And once you are labeled as a player it is very difficult to get rid of it.
