I'm sure they're going to try and market it with some stupid excuse like it helps your teammates see you quicker...the stuff boot companies get away with these days is starting to get ridiculous.

I think you're correct. It's funny, a few years ago, that really was the case, the star player had some boots with color pop so you can easily pick them out. Now everyone on the field has the same boots with the same color.

Another shot shows "tkk..." on the insole, so I'd bet on a new silo.

Further, this is the polar opposite of the Ace soleplate.

    That is proper ********ing hideous.

I'm sorry Adidas, I've loved you since I was a kid, but I'm beginning to really doubt these design choices...

I believe Nike already used that advertising tactic on the Superfly 3

The game evolves so fast that Adidas has to discontinue the X and Ace and replace it with the HyperChaos XX.

No and I'm not allowed to say what it is either. But it's really cool and I like them alot (in the other colour that they will have that is!). Also not a cleat........unless they plan to make that line into a cleat later on.

is it going to be a freestyle/tricks silo? looking at the soleplate construction (all that rubber for sole control) and "tkk" could stand for tekkers. just my two cents

There was a great buzz before the release ...
But for some undisclosed reason, Adidas withdrew the market model in the date set for the launch ...
    Apparently, not all pairs

I purchased the X FG Synth yesterday and ran into a few issues. I wear a 10 in my Adizero F50, 10 1/2 nitrocharge and bought a size 10 and they hurt my feet pretty bad last night at training. I got a couple of blisters and they just felt a bit tight all round, wore them on a 3G pitch. If I went for the 10 1/2 instead of a 10 they were about 2cm from the end of the toe box to my big toe, think that's a bit too much and my toes would slip around too much as I sprint off or stop wouldn't it?

Don't really want to take them back as they do look pretty good but if they're going to hurt i'll have no choice.

The solution to this problem is...leather.

But the cleat you see doesn't identify itself as a cleat, so therefore it is not a cleat despite having all the features of a cleat. If you call it a cleat you will be subject to bullying and shout downs - from the ironically "anti-bulllying" agenda folks - for not agreeing with or accepting the obvious cleat as something other than a cleat.

Thanks! My boredom while I sit around and rest following my latest knee surgery is making me a bit loopy...your enjoyment and approval brought a much needed smile to face.

I had to go a full size up in mine - I usually wear a 6 but had to go for a 7 in the end as my foot was just too wide for the boot. I do get a little bit of slipping from the tech fit collar at the back but its nothing I'm worried about. I don't think I'm going to roll my ankle or anything I just have to keep them laced up tight. Plus i have been wearing fairly thin socks with them as we've had a bit of a mini heatwave in the UK. I say go up a size if they keep hurting you. But can you return them if you've already worn them for a training session?

As I said I've had mine for about a week - I always try and hold off on reviews until I've given myself some time to get to grip with a new boot. What do I think of the X. For me its just a glorified F50. It fits the same, it feels the same, the touch is the same. Even the front of the boot is the same :

    adidas-adizero-f50-micoach-yellow-red-2011.jpg

For me personally I don't really feeL anything from the tech fit collar. It sits on your ankle area, yet i felt no kind of support from it. I'm sure Adidas put A LOT of work into developing it but for me it feels like a bit of an after though after they'd seen what Nike were doing with a dynamic collar. It all seems kind of half assed. On to the cage. This did nothing for me - I felt no extra lock down at all. In fact when my laces were done up parts of the cage actually gaped and this wasn't because my foot was too wide for the boot it just seems an odd material to be made from when you kind of want something a bit more hugging. It feels too thick. I love the sole plate although the back studs could have been a few more cms shorter for me - I was playing on turf.

Don't get me wrong these aren't a bad boot I think I maybe just expected a bit more from them. They are for sure an improvement from the last 2 F50s and if you liked F50s in the past then ask I said they remind me a lot in fit and feel as the ones pictured above (personally I think those were one of the best F50s produced) the synthetic is soft and for me took not breaking in time out of the box and I got no cramp which usually happens with Adidas boots.

Fit wise like I've already said they were a bit strange for my feet I got sent a 6, 6.5 and a 7 and the 7 was the best fit for me. This was the same size I've been wearing in my Primeknit 2.0 so they are definitely a try it on boot to make sure you get the right fit for your foot.

I personally love a synthetic boot - they are practical and easy to clean with a nice touch for when I do freestyle or want to ping a ball, but the gimmicks for me don't really pay off and if you can live without the tech fit collar which i don't think does anything then maybe the leather ones are the way to go if you love the design of this boot. I just think it will fit better all over being as the boot isn't too wide - you'd get a better fit from the leather version.

I always try to be honest with my reviews - I don't do this for a living so I don't feel that i have to sugar coat my reviews otherwise Adidas won't sent me another pair to review or not send me to some major event. I'm grateful to get free boots and it means that I can give reviews like this that might not be 100% perfect. On that note, they are a very nice boot for the money Adidas are charging with Nike hiking their prices right up for the top end models.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

Great and honest reviews.. I get tired of the YouTube reviews who sugarcoat it or try and spin it into a positive thing rather than calling it crap. I want people to call out the companies for making crap shoes and charging $200+. Adidas should stick to making the older preds and I'd guarantee their sales would explode.

Probably not as much as it did me. How did the surgery go?

My knee is in pretty bad shape...I am bone on bone in a section of my patellofemoral compartment, which may or may not be able to be treated with cartilage restoration..I'll discuss with my new doctor when I have my follow up. For that in the short term they did what is called a chondroplasty to clean up the existing damage and prevent it from getting worse.

The rest of the joint was a mess as well with severe arthofibrosis aka scar tissue build up. They have to make extra scope holes in my quad to get around it all because it was unable to be excised in the standard method. I had an anterior interval release which is a debridement of the anterior knee (under the patella and patellar tendon as well as the gutters) and an extensive debridement of the rest of my knee. The scar tissue was so bad that it tethered my ACL and PCL together. All the moving parts have been released and my knee already feels more functional than it did before surgery despite the post op pain.

thats alot of issues bro. well now its more mobile lets hope you can get it functioning as good as it can be. ive found once you get surgery on the knee its a life long commitment to maintain function and mobility for the duration of your sport career.

you already know but your hamstrings, calves and quads mostly your vmo will be key for optimum performance.

    good luck bro.. stay positive

Yeah, I know it is a long road and if I have the tissue graft it is another stop and start for 12 months.
I am at the point where I am not worried about playing ultra-competitive soccer anymore. I just want to enjoy myself at less competitive level and eventually be able to play functionally with my children (when I have them) and be able to demo stuff as a coach. Other than that I want to be able to lift heavy and sprint for health and strength. My VMO was malfunctioning for a long time because of the scar build up, which contributed to the destruction of my patellofemoral compartment along with my patella being contracted.

I am going to be as strong as possible to offset this, but I am going to reign it in from my last venture into strength work. Doing squat sets 3x5 in the 400lbs+ range three times a week with a non functioning patella is part of the reason why it's arthritic now.

I am lucky that my new doctor is a globally known expert in sports medicine and the head surgeon for a top NFL team, so the level of expertise and experience I am getting is first class. Additionally my job gives me access to other leaders in the field of orthopedics so I have options when it comes to advanced treatment of joint preservation.

the body is so complexed. its funny as in 08 when i had my knee op on right knee. i got it to recover and become even strong and functional. my left side now is the issue lol. big toe, achilles and vmo not firing properly. my glute med was the problem. i neglected it when training right leg.

with squating i trully feel Olympic lifts and full range of motion squatting has been my holy grail. i can squat 130kg front squat easily with speed. im weighting 75kg.

my physio here in london is like my second father he will always be in my life. ask your doctor about maybe rehabbing in a nfl complex. when rehabbed at chelsea the equipment was second to none!
