At least they scored once in this tournament, Jamaica scored none.

I love the logic of scoring few goals in WC and you're rated $100 million. Hopefully new youngster emerged and hit 5 goals in next Euro and LPB buys them for $60 million.

Falcao was also keeping better players (Bacca and Jackson) out of the team.

Remember in our CB crisis when many culés were clamoring to sign Eder Balanta? He's kinda dropped off the map, eh?

That would include me....but I still think they should have signed a young promising CB for 10-20 million who could play a few minutes here and there instead of two 30ish CBs like Mathieu and Vermaelen.

I was part of that chorus, I admit. But I remember Zubi saying they were after left-footed CBs in particular. And I remember thinking Zubi is a fool. Now I think he was scapegoated.

Mathieu filled in at CB and LB very well. And Bartra went underused. Another young CB would've played maybe a couple early round CdR matches at best.

Rough night for MATS! Concedes 5 goals in the under-21 semis against Portugal. Although can't be blamed for any of the goals. Germany still qualified for the Olympics so that might add some good experience for MATS, provided he gets selected on the team.

Well technically Bacca was on the team although Falcao was starting for some unknown reason before Bacca got suspended for being a dick.

From the "Where the hell did THAT come from" file...

Phil Neville has joined Valencia as an assistant coach.

Truthfully, the writing for him to eventually join Valencia was on the wall since his playing days. Phil Neville from Manchester and Everton = Valencia

I think it's slowly about time Camp Nou hosts a CL final. Are we bidding, or are we waiting the future renovations to be complete?

I don't think they've bid on it for quite a while.
Hosting the 1999 final was a no-brainer as it was part of the club's Centenary celebrations. But since then I thought I read a few years ago that there was no interest until renovations were made. And who knows when that will take place.
I could see Bilbao hosting a Europa League final before Camp Nou gets a Champions final.
A shame Valencia's Nou Mestalla is still sitting waiting to be completed. Last I read the new target date is sometime during the 2018-19 season.

    Cardiff?
Tbf I don't think that stadium has ever hosted a Champions League final. Not even sure about a Europa League final.

Yeah, probably not since its a new stadium. Still though... having the CL final in the same country 3 times in 7 years??

Although it is an EPL club, Cardiff is in Wales which is a different country. The "Great Britain vs United Kingdom vs England Wales and Scotland etc" issue is an intriguing mess, but Wales is definitely a different country to England.
