You know that it is just a football match? Unless this is supposed to be satire...

You listen to some of the anthems during this WWC and some (if you're not of that country) don't seem very stirring or memorable. I think the German anthem is one of the best but I'm not too enamoured with the chorale version posted above, I prefer the instrumental which is quite moving. Conversely, I found a rare chorale version of O Canada to be better than the usual intrumental.

I also didn't really care for the posted American version either. Now I'm not American but I think some might agree with me that this is one of the coolest anthem singers of all time (and an American icon).

The best version of the American anthem is when my friends dad sings it

Not bad, but not the best. It sounded like he was going to copy the Wayne Messmer ending which really differentiates it and puts it over.

You can see the interesting Kate Smith/Flyers story starting at 29:28 below. Ol' Kate tossing the dukes is just too cool for school.

I'm hearing Maro is questionable for this game. I hope she heals up quickly. I'd hate to see anyone miss this game for either side due to injury.

I dont think it would matter in the end considering Germany is already missing Kessler (best DM, Balloon D'Or), Wensing (best fullback) and Alushi (dynamic winger).

The insane arrogance of these German posters on here is exactly why I was rooting so hard for France and so ecstatic when they scored the goal and thoroughly dominated in possession. Crushed when the referee handed Germany the lifeline. These German posters have lost their minds with cockiness. The world supposedly thinks USA is "arrogant" but these times, it seems more and more Germany is the arrogant country. We will see what happens you punks on tuesday. Keep counting the USA out....

Germany should win this one hands down. USA barely managed to beat China.... No way they can beat Germany.
