Didn't Sawa also played in all three group matches? Started in Game 1 (Switzerland) and Game 3(Ecuador) while she was subbed-in in Game 2(Cameroon). She didn't play all 90' min in each game though.
New JFA article about the Ecuador game HERE Sasaki again repeats his fears ..... I feel the quality of the team as well as the individual players of each country has improved more than I thought. I don’t expect too many games in which we can easily take the initiative. It’s vital to stay patient, one of our strengths and not to miss our limited goal-scoring opportunities. The other countries have improved more than he thought - perhaps if Japan had played more friendlies this year, or even if he had reviewed videos of other teams' friendlies, he would know that.
I dont claim to be an expert, but its logical that, to win the Cup, the team has to play exceedingly well together in a real test - to pretend that they do that only in training, against some kind of fake opposition, would be to fool only themselves. These games were the real tests - one slip-up and it could have been the Swiss or later Cameroons in pole position to win the group on GD - and in none of these real tests did Japan play well.
Gotta have some excuse ready. After all, missing her limited goal-scoring opportunities is Ogimi's speciality.
From Twitter: I think this says Ando's surgery was a success: 611739744649633792 is not a valid tweet id Mitsue Iwakura returns to Japan for "personal reasons": Os dejo mis palabras. OK, Yuki hears your critique, and so is working on some new skills with Asano: ゆでぃが瞬間移動!? https://t.co/yNwiyyNVnF— 永里 亜紗乃/Asano Nagasato⚽ (@Assano124) June 18, 2015
I believe France have the same luxury as the Germans. All their players are quality players. This can be evidently seen during the Mexico game. They benched regulars Necib, Thiney yet they got instant impact (like first goal in less than a minute) right off the bat with some analysts saying the team are better off without Necib.
Most of that is the general love and respect to her teammates and all of the people who have helped her end up where she has, but the most notable thing, I guess, is that this is a retirement announcement, not like going home to play. She's on 30, so all of the general reasons will probably apply, but she obviously has her own specific motives. Whatever they are, it was a pleasure to see her and her experiences in the short time I knew of her. I wish her all of the best, wherever she goes from here. "I want to tell you all now that I am returning to Japan for good. The motive is personal. Until now football has been my everything. Making this decision has been incredibly difficult.... I now face the fear of living day to day without you girls, but I also think on the incredible luck I have to be able to retire with this team. This next year, you girls will be just as you are now, no doubt even better. I will share the joy of you and all of your victories as an unconditional fan in Japan. Thank you so much for everything. Amunt Valencia. With all the love in my heart, Mitsue." Woman just made me cry, and I don't even know her! I know she won't read this but "Besos, abrazos, y que vayas con Dios (kisses, hugs, and Godspeed), hermana!"
Do we have any DBZ experts here? Because if Shunkan Idō makes use of some different dimension like hyperspace then it would be "deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee’s permission" and also "entering or re-entering the field of play without the referee’s permission" and therefore a cautionable offence.
Ohno and Kumagai? Although their legs are probably not at the same level, it looks like one of them is anyway way shorter than the other...
Hmm... who do we know who is known for being super short? ... It's right in front of you, Profe! Also, can we stop and talk about how adorbz Blondeside and Ms. Asano (Nickname pending) are being right now? Love these two! 急な登り坂 https://t.co/ed03gTvPym— 永里 亜紗乃/Asano Nagasato⚽ (@Assano124) June 18, 2015 And finally, someone let Ms. Naho play with some scissors. Let's hope her skills are better than mine!
Mmm, ok, I guess I should learn better how to read in the particular way unepomme has to disclose things... Hey: it's you the main nickname-maker on this thread! By the way, I guess "Andobear" already stuck. Mmm, just to stick with nick-names: could the victim be former Ms. Two-Tones (aka Mi-Chan)?
Then my job here is done! That's always been my thing, making silly nicknames or abbreviations for everyone I know. I aim to have one for everyone in the world by 2025. Well, this was posted on Ms. Iwabuchi's twitter (which contains several photos of her and Ms. Kuma hanging out, so I know who I'm shipping now ) I suppose 15% of the corner of a face could be anyone, but my guess is that the victim is Buchi herself. Flash forward to the Netherlands match where Buchi features as a sub wearing a beanie as she runs onto the pitch.
Video made by our Lechus7 HERE showing Masuya 'all-touches' as she literally rescues INAC from defeat by JEF. Looking at it again, just study Yamane's efforts on the 4th goal.............. not so good. Nadeshiko get a full day off from training per JFA HERE - maybe that's why the Nagasato sisters made trouble downtown.
So Japan won their Group C, and will be playing Netherlands next in the Round of 16. How good is the Netherlands? what are the odds? from reading an article, it sounds like the Netherlands coach are confidence against the Nadeshiko. and from what I saw, I would be worry for Nadeshiko Japan as well. In all three matches, though they did scored early and hold onto the win in all 3 matches, there are numerous worrying points. the Nadeshiko aren't dominate like they used to. They passing style is disrupted, I'd seen many missplaced or mis-weighted passes which lead to losing possession and opponents long ball style with speedy FWs are a major problem for the Nadeshiko Defense. The don't look comfortable for some reason, jittery, out of sorts. nervous. They also couldn't score more goals to put it to bed. wasted several chances, which against stronger teams would be hard to come by. I hope Sasaki Norio-san and Nadeshiko Japan can improve greatly in the upcoming days.
Yep, I watched the full game (well, the part when she played) and she definitely made the difference. Would have loved to see her play in the World Cup, maybe the Nadeshiko would actually stand a chance with her on the pitch. And there's another player I'd have preferred to be in the WC squad. One of the few Japanese forwards that have pace and know how to score.
