Steffen, Arriola, Hyndman, Carter-Vickers ones to watch. Still have hope for Zelalem. I want to wash my hands of Rubin but still to early.

He's right. Those pens are a mess. At least pick a corner.

Feel bad for Zack Steffen dude bailed us out multiple times for John Requejo to barely strike it in an easy spot.

With that penalty miss, CCV is a perfect fit for England :(

An out and out forward plus a competent defensive midfielder would've made a world of difference with this side.

This Serbian team wasnt as good as people said they were. I think we would've beat them if not for injuries and suspensions.

Couldn;t grind it out. Just not good enough. This is still our level, unfortunately.

Brutal. If that game had gone on another 5 minutes, the US would have scored. Serbia was spent. There's no shame in losing in PKs.

It's the tone of the post, not the fact that they failed at kicking pk's(they did).

Or maybe our guys ARE very good. We can give them credit instead of slagging the opponent.

I want our youth coaches to tell players to pick a corner and hi or lo. None of this stutter step and hope they fall nonsense. Anyway they had more shots, more on frame and we were decimated. The more complete and mature team won. I like CCV for the future, Hyndman and Zelalem couldn't play with big guys and need more development. I like Arriola, Steffen and Payne. I liked Rubin until the pen. In all it was alright but all those injuries ruined our ability to shoot with power and accuracy. Delgado was a defensive nightmare and even worse going forward.

Stutter step PKs are so inexcusably stupid. You have the entire net to aim for and are a professional soccer player. Just kick it. Right, Matt Le Tiss?

Everything was just an inch off tonight. Passes, crosses, shots. Sometimes that's the way the pendulum swings. Side note: I'm sure he was tired, but Arriola looked pretty bad tonight

Our players had nothing left for PK's. We really had nothing left past like the 60th minute. The player selection for this tournament was very questionable. Tab played that quarter-final with 12 players he trusted to see the pitch. Maybe 13 if one of the CB's needed to come off. He might've not even trusted all of those players. A lot of questionable player selections for the initial roster. I was ridiculed when I said it initially. It came back to hurt us in this game. We were tired by the middle of the second half, and it got progressively worse.

QF's isn't bad, but I don't see why we shouldn't be aiming for better than that. Our player pool was good enough to do better. We were just about assured Round of 16 anyway. I said this tournament was going to come down to if we had enough offense. We just didn't. Players didn't step up along, along with some questionable player selections combined with some bad luck. Result wasn't terrible, but it could've been better.

I'm only upset cuz I don't get to see this group play another game, but in the grand scheme of things I really like what these players offer going forward. Looks like there could be some real difference makers.

The Olympics aren't too far off so hopefully some of these get worked in. I'd rather see some of them than scrubs like Dan Metzger and Boyd Okwuonu.
