I can understand that you are all happy that switzerland finally emerged with a good team, but that is no reason to try to spread negativity around. I usually like your insides, but somehow you have become a little grumpy...
I'm worried though 'bout Nadeshiko's health after this game. Stomp on Kinga's face, on Kawasumi's ankle, Miyama and Utsugi crossbones kicked a few times...it's all gonna cost as the tourney progress. I suspect quite an experimental line-up against Equador.
Can you leave us be? Seriously. Come by, enjoy the damn game or not, but don't walk around like you've suddenly gained some sort of clarity over us. "Voice of reason" my ass. You've just switched sides, you're no more in the right because of it. You can have your opinion, but don't diminish ours in the process.
Hope all the players who haven't played yet will be fielded! And a more central role for Kamio, please! Hope Miho just chills out, no offense (but maybe there is but an unavoidable one, sorry Ecuador).
No. No, no, no. See, Switzerland aren't a good team. They just looked good against Japan because as usual, Japan are underperforming. I'm not insulting players or members here. You're strongly voicing your opinions; if you can't handle me doing the same then that's your ********ing problem, not mine. Don't act like you own this thread.
For the record, I was speaking about the "voice of reason" comment, just like the "told you so" before it. Don't phrase things in inflammatory ways, even if you believe them. You can have any opinion you want, but you also have to recognize the room you're in, which is why I said "amicably disagree". And it's not our problem, it's OUR problem. As in all of us, including you. If we can't coexist, we're going to be doing this a lot and whatever. I don't want that, nor do you. I respect what you have to say, but you have to acknowledge who it is you're speaking with. So, say what you will, when you will... but like I said before, please don't be a dick about it, and don't be surprised when you get bugged when you do.
Switzerland did not look good against Japan, they looked mediocre and Japan looked better (not much) and in control for 3/4 parts of the game and deserved the win.
Hey, guys, chill down! If the temperature already heats up this way when Japan wins (and it's the first team to qualify for round of 16, very likely as the 1st team of its group, because Ecuador is... well, let's say not really competitive...), what will it happen when (Gob forbid!) Japan will lose? And G, you'll have to admit that, even if you didn't insult anyone, your opinions were expressed in a quite annoying "know-it-all" tone... I feel no need to attack you and respect your point of view, but you wouldn't attract any objections if you'd in turn respect what you see as "naive fandom", even if you don't agree with the reasonment behind it...
By the way, does anyone know the condition of deciding the four third teams when their points are even, head-to-head result or goal difference?
The rules of qualification past points and goal difference, are total goals scored and then, God forbid, drawing lots.
Meanwhile, I finally rewatched both goals I had missed. Good dummie by Ogimi for Sameshima on first goal: I seem to remember And G claiming that Yuki was trying to shoot, but (even if I watched it just once + replay) I've got the sensation that she intentionally let the ball flow through to the Shark.
With presence and spirit, Andogol inspiring us to victory. Courtesy of a Nikkan Sports article, by way of opp03 on Tumblr.
No, just 1-0, both on 3 points now. Agree... Am only on my iPhone now and much too late to be bothered turn the PC on, but that's what I thought I saw too - am surprised there is so little comment about this!?
Oh yeah! Wow, I'm dumb. Thanks for the catch, mumf. I agree with you and Profe about Ms. Blondeside. A bit of a fake shot in there too, to fool Ms. Ngo Ndom. Sweet move.
And why would they not? At this stage, maybe Sasaki has decided to stand on the breaks, calculating that he can get away with not showing all of his cards right away. The game against Switzerland was quite boring. Nadeshiko was calculating, patient. But still orderly and thus, keeping the game balanced. Not sure of ghe objective wasn't to tie the game. It didn't look like they were trying to hard, but in the end they won. I admit, winning by PK is not the most graceful kind of victory, but it counts. The first half today was good. The slowed down in second, managing the comfortable lead. Ok, they got too lazy and were almost punished. So again, why not start out at half speed? Given the groups strength. When you say Nadeshiko was underperforming, you indicate that you think (know?) they can do better. The next rounds will show where we stand.
Errrrr UnePomme do you remember your very different post about the turf just a few weeks ago? Comment about AndG - very amusing that Ogimi should have been subbed. Really, those thinking he is spewing "hate" after a narrow, even desperate win over an Afrucan country - try some other boards to see what hate is like. As for Japan's chances, this game further shakes my confidence - especially as I saw Sweden. USA and Sweden playing so well.
Evening folks, I'm back from BC Stadium and relieved that our team won (or should I say scaped by). In both matches the women gave up too much to the opponent at the last 5 minutes of the game. I don't like that trend. Lack of fitness and letting the play come to them perhaps. I would like to see them concentrate better snd make better passing decisions.
