    Or maybe,

his plan is to bunker down and have some fast runners up top to hit Croatia on the break. Ala Milan v Barcelona a few years back. SES was instrumental in that match and so may be fielded out on the left and Immobile who if he is good at anything it's running onto balls played out in front of him in a counter-attacking style (lots of success doing that at Torino).

For a system like that ideally you'd want a back four a solid defensive midfield structure and importantly one or preferably two players who play quality outballs to runners up top.

That's my guess because with the squad we've got I just don't see us playing a possession game.

NB. Whilst different (Juve played ball to feet, whereas I'm suggesting ball over the top and out in front) this approach is not all that dissimilar to the way Allegri set out Juve . You can be sure Conte has been playing close attention to what Allegri has been doing.

EDIT: And SES will help out some defensively.

Mending bridges. I'd love to see him back but alas I think his national team days are done.

I continue to boycott the Azzurri for as long as Ranocchia keeps getting called up. There's no excuse for that.
If he actually starts, Conte should be summarily executed.

Ooops… At first When I read the name Sansone,..I tought the Bologna's upfront Sansone. lol to myself.

<I mean, At the Serie B play off second leg, I liked his performance, goal and goal chances that he had in that night.Looked skilly and interesting foot work in that game.

    Anyway,

back to the , I really dunno who is gonna be at the starting line up at certain spots…
I bet Pirlo will score from free kick.

    0-2 , 0-1

    Regards,

I know I really hope we don't lose. If we lose and Norway wins their game (Of course they will, its Malta in Norway), then we will drop to third place. We probably will make it back to second even if we do but I cannot stand the feeling for us being in the danger zone at any time.

Ominous article on ESPN that says if we lose to Croatia, we won't be seeded for World Cup qualifying (groups are decided very soon). Could end up in the same group as a Germany or Spain. Finishing in second means playoff. Article says that Romania is going to be seeded. I have no idea how that is possible, but with FIFA I'm not surprised.

Forget about ESPN. This is reliable about seeding: http://www.footballseeding.com/national-ranking-uefa/

In second place we would automatically qualify. In third we'd have to go through a playoff. UEFA is in full control. FIFA has nothing to do with this. Right now we are 7th which is just one rank behind being seeded in Pot 1. We must root against Belgium, Portugal, England, and Netherlands so we can gain back that spot before the draw. But I am not scared of Germany or Spain though. We always beat Germany and they are struggling as well. Spain is struggling a lot to. I am confident we can beat both Spain and Germany. Anyway the website I said is reliable. Belgium is 6th and if they drop points against Wales and we win, maybe we'll get 6th back. We were 6th until we drew Bulgaria and Belgium won their 2 games.

Here is our starting squad: Italy (4-3-3): Buffon; Darmian, Bonucci, Astori, De Silvestri; Marchisio, Pirlo, Parolo; El Shaarawy, Pelle, Candreva.

El Shaaarawy?? CONTE ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Do you realize that if we lose this we could drop to 3rd place? El Shaarawy is even worse than Immobile and Zaza and you start him? Oh My Gosh. Conte if your gonna joke, please coach somewhere else. This is serious and we want to win this game to get back on top of the group. If we lose I blame you. Conte, I sure hope you know what your doing and know something we don't know, and have a good reason for starting El Shaarawy. I trust you at the moment, but if we lose, my trust for you is done until I see a good starting squad.

Dropping the Zaza Immobile lineup is a step in the right direction. He's learning.

El Shaarawy is not worse then Immobile or Zaza, he is a quality player getting off of an injury. Looks to be in decent form, bagged a brace in the second last game of Serie A

That empty stadium is ridiculous and serves no purpose. At least the crowd is not booing the Italian anthem. Buffon seems tone deaf. Why not take one from the Juve notebook and have kids in the stadium?

Mandzukic is going to break that back line

2-1 Croatia is my prediction with how bad Italy's line up looks.
