What is the opposite of immaculate? That field is shot and will need to be replaced. Sections of it were laid down so crooked it was embarrassing.

But I still enjoyed this game like no other this season. Great fight back by the orange! I thought the crowd looked small at first but my buddy said there were huge lines at the ticket booths. Sure enough by the end of the night BBVA looked full and was rocking!

Was I seeing things or was Jesse Marsch waving his arms and mocking the fans behind him at one tense moment? Looked totally classless to me. I never figured him as that kind of guy. I hope I was just seeing things.

Anyone know why Rico's first goal was disallowed?

For the same reason our goal in LA in the Western Conference final was disallowed the night the lights went out at Home Depot Center.

On his post-game show Matt called it a "phantom call" and said they couldn't find a foul on the replays

Why complain about the field? It wasn't beautiful but wasn't bad. Ok, I did forget to wear my glasses, but I really didn't think it looked bad, and my friends said the same. And I noticed only Alex fell once, unlike every other game when guys were falling all the time on the old sod.

It's a British idea to reclaim the game for common folks as opposed to the huge spending that leads to expensive ticket prices that in turn prices Joe Six-Pack out of the stadium.

Not sure why anyone waves that flag at BBVA dice as far as I can tell the Dynamo and MLS generally are still a pretty cheap ticket.

I suppose it WOULD be A relevant sort of protest when the Galaxy or NYCFU are in town. Those teams are benefitting from free spending ownership much more than any other MLS teams.

I noticed the same thing. It happened after Grella got a yellow card for shameless diving (Grella's body betrayed him and he was ready to plant his feet and fall down inside the box as soon as he saw Derek coming). Marsch turned around and started waving his arms, facing the fans. My buddy showed me that Marsch was complaining to the TV people, as he wanted the big screen to show the replay. Marsch is just a dumb-ass.

what did i see last night? who was that team?

it just these types of games that the team, and bruin, give us once a blue moon that keep us hoping. How i wish they could perform to this level every week.

and they might: here is why--

benching OBG. great move. his performance has been woeful and needed adjustment. He looked like he answered the bell when he came off the bench. Especially after the bovines were drained from the heat.

no sarkodie. greater move. leaving him off the field does give us two lumbering giants at CB but we more than make up for it with our increased game IQ. Raul is still learning the position but he is miles above Human Toast when it comes to reading the game. His play out wide allow Horst to make a decision earlier on how he will play the channels thus leading to a couple of Horst saves. If Horst has to worry about covering the right side, he would cheat over and hesitate thus not allowing him to be in position to do what he did on the saves and clearances.

the growth of Alex. He appears to be improving each game. With OBG gone for weeks coming up, we really have a chance of a player getting some serious time and experience and turn into a full professional player we can count on.

Rico- Man of the mther fckn year. He is the rock the rest of the team is built on

Barnes- appears to know his role and is finally comfortable in his position. yes he is too greedy and lacks wide vision (missed Davis numerous times to his left) but ability to perform with in the box overrides his faults.

Deric- i still argue he has some of the best reaction saves I've ever seen in this league. He should have done so much better on the goal he gave up on the near post (raul could have stepped up as well but Tyler can't let that in near post) but he is on the short list for best keepers in the league. I fear he won't make all star team because of lack of national attention but he should be on the team easily

Beaz- loved his moving forward last night. Having Garrido slide over and Horst move forward when Beaz took his chances showed me that the back is much better at reading the game than when year first started. The Beaz/Garrido chemistry is something fun to watch. Can't be said for the Beaz/Davis chemistry. They seem to still miss each other. Not sure why.

and lastly--stumbledore. His goal scoring the past month has been phenomenal. Can he keep it up? I say no. We have seen this in the past from him where he goes on a month long hot streak and then disappears for the rest of the year. He still plays dismally in most areas and I won't rehash them here. But I can't take away from his goal production and I hope that this recent performance is a sign that the wake up call that Coyle sent him worked and that he has approached the game differently. To the point where he is ready to perform consistently and improve. I look forward to him proving me, and history wrong.

Good win vs a bad team. Glad we did what we supposed to do and get the three points.

    PS

Man o man, is NY a bunch a whiny beotches or what? That guy named Sasha with the perv mustache has taken the complainer in chief role that the Froggy left for sure. STFU already!!

Most convincing and enjoyable win for me this year.

    • It makes a huge difference when your leading striker is on fire. I have to agree that being on the bench for a while may have helped the dancing bear. Bruin first goal was unbelievable, instead of passing the ball to Barnes, he takes it himself! I was too drunk to see his second one.

    • The first half was frustrating. I was hoping for Bruin to be benched and replaced by my grandmother, or anybody who could dribble past a defender. Glad he proved me wrong.

    • I thought we were lucky a couple of times during the first half; NY could have scored earlier. How about that time around minute 7 when Horst had to save the ball inches from the goalline? wright-Phillips outrun our defenders and almost scored!

    • I can't complain about Lopez, he was completing passes, moving the ball well, but also losing the ball... as much as everybody else.

    • The substitutions were effective. Boniek for Lopez, Lovejoy for Davis. Boniek brought the fire to the team. His goal was fun to watch.

    • The first goal was on Rodriguez, he was unable to stop Grella. The second goal appeared to be on Taylor, he may have missed his man. Our defense got caught several times.

    • Beasley and Barnes actively attacking, our team gets more chances and we get goals.

    • Rico, Derek, both had great games.

Obrahma is back! Look out below, Dynamo FO spin coming down!!! Field seemed to play OK but there were a few slips and some other gouges and it seemed like a ton of sand was used as fill - not sure how anyone could think that a week ago it was a good surface to play on.

Guys fell earlier in the year because they watered the field down or it had rained and guys like Boniek wore the wrong studs. When turf comes up on cuts and tackles is when it is bad. Field looked good earlier in the year.

And be nice to Brahma, make him feel welcome, and our old friend troutseth may come back (unless he is already here under a different name).

I was a little surprised Lopez came off at halftime. He was one of our best attackers in the first half. But Boniek found a way to score and sent in some good corners that lead to more goals, so I'll shut the heck up.

Rico is such a freakin Stud. His first goal was good. If anything McCarty fouled him -- but they were both equally entangled and Rico just got free. No push. No foul.

The biggest thing that I'm noticing is that in our right back position we need much better play. Raul is having an MLS nightmare.

Rico lost the ball in bad ways countless times in the first half. So bad were some of his turnovers that I wanted him off at half time but what a turnaround for him in the second half!

I couldn't understand some of the line up and subs but I think Lopez was injured right before half and Oscar was hurt before the game and wasn't planned on getting a lot of minutes according to Coyle.

Another game when I was wishing Bruin gets subbed off and then he goes scores a goal late - WITH THE LEFT FOOT!

Coyle must have used the hairdryer at half because NY looked they were going to crush us by the end of the first half.

Great team win and great coaching by Coyle to get the team turned around at half.

Oh yeah I was very impressed with McCarty, he effectively shut down Giles most of the game.

I don't know about y'all but when Grella fired home there in the end of the first half I sure was pissed as I did not think we could get the full 3 after halftime.
Then the second half was all Dynamo attack getting things right!
Rico's second finish of the night is worth the price of admission. He was pissed off for the phantom call and like we know about him, he just goes even harder on the opposition looking for a bite at goal. Then it came and he did very well to fire that strike home. Take notice that he went far post past a swarm of teammates and opponents to finish that bad boy off in the opposite side netting. DONE n DONE! SWEET GEORGIA FOOTBALLER ON MY MIND!!!!

3 Points in the table, ring it up!

    DALE DYNAMO!!!

That's Rico. He turns the ball over so many times, but he comes up with big goals and covers so much ground throughout the game.

I don't like Barnes in the withdrawn role all that much. He's better when he's forced to be the man up top. I think it keeps him motivated when the others are relying on him, but Bruin is scoring goals right now, so it is what it is.
