I'm just happy he is back healthy and ready to go out there and do a job. I believe Gilberto can be the stabilizing force in the Midfield for Metro. I'm just glad he is doing well and back at 100%. Better have him ready for Columbus and Dallas to get his feet wet again.

That means Magee goes to the bench.

Despite the great runs Gilberto made on the right flank before his injury, what Magee brought to the team when he was moved to midfield was a toughness they lacked earlier in the season. Notice how they improved on defense when he became a starter. Also, I like how Magee and Guevara work together.

Another option could be moving Gaven back to left halfback, where he started the season, with Flores on the right, and Guevara and Magee in the middle. Brenes would be the first option of the bench and a nice guy to have available in the 60th minute in a close game.

Again, forgive me for invading your board, but believe me when i say this as a DC United fan: I will celebrate if you guys decide to not use a healthy Gilberto Flores. I know that 3 or 4 games is not the best of samples, but I saw much of them, and he was outstanding. then, when you look at the numbers, you realize that in his 4 appearances, while he was in the game, these were the results: in San Jose when he was subbed out, the score was 1-1. Metros went on to lose 3-1. he went 90 minutes 2-1 victory at home against an in-form and league leading LA (at the time). he went 90 minutes in a 3-0 victory in LA against a still league leading LA. he was Injured in the next game when the score was 0-0 against the Revs, which was a game they went on to lose 2-1. In other words, in 2 games he was subbed out before the end in a tie game, and his team promptly went on to lose both. In the other 2 games, he went the distance against the best team in the league, gaining which were at the time fairly improbable and unlikely victories. I saw 3 of those games, and he is just as tough as Magee and more skillful. Goal differential with him on the field? 6-2 in favor of the metros. isn't he the same age as Magee too? after the last LA game, I believe that I wrote something to the effect that this guy is gonna be a star in this league, and I actually felt really bad when he went down with injury. Anyway, I HOPE that they don't play him. As I said to start, the rest of the league will celebrate.

I would actually like to see Magee, Amado, Gilberto, Brenes & Gaven in the midfield. At least you can use both Gilberto & Brenes attacking on offense as well as helping out with the defense as they are very fast and quick feet as well. I can see both Brenes & Gilberto on the wings bringing up the ball as well as defending the ball against the oppostition. But I believe Gilberto will come off the bench in the next two matches at Columbus & At Dallas. He hasn't played since Dempsey Broke his leg.

But this is a good thing right here. It really looks like everything is going to come together. The magic is coming together with Bradley at the helm and hopefully we can make the final in MLS Cup. Next year let's hope we can get back to the US Open Cup Final.

I do like this lineup a lot but maybe Brenes for Rico and I would say it is ideal. Guess we could sub one in for the other and have T Bone as a reserve with Ziadie also. Would be nice attacking team that is for sure and Flores gives us good ball winning skills as well as getting Leitch back on the right side.

This is great news. Gilberto has so much talent and can work well with his other hispanic buddy in the middle, Guevara...

Gilberto is from Brazil......he speaks Portuguese. Guevara is from Honduras.....he speaks Spanish. While most Brazilians can speak/understand some Spanish, Hondurans just look at you funny when they hear Portuguese coming out of your mouth.

FYI - Brazilians are generally offended when referred to as 'Hispanic'...... you can draw your own conclusions from that. Coincidentally I've lived in both countries and speak both languages to some degree.

Interesting as CrazyG's lineup is, Parke has no left foot and doesn't play LB. Even with 2 d-mids, him at LB is playing quite far from his strengths. He is a good ball winner, a good disrupter of plays, and he's physical. Play him at LB, and you just put his left foot, his mobility and his speed at issue, and that doesn't make a ton of sense.

Also, and this may sound like heresy, but Bonseu has been playing pretty well. If we go to a 3-5-2, that means sitting Parke, because you'd need to have either a Brenes-Pope-Bonseu or a Leitch-Pope-Bonseu back line, and playing Leitch at LB instead of Brenes only makes sense if you can get Brenes in at L-mid, which you can't when we've got 5 other guys in there.

    So, a modified CrazyG lineup.

It's nice, but I don't expect Bob to try it. Our D has been solid of late (hiccups of last week aside), so I'd bet on a 4-4-2, especially as we're on the road.

I like Woly as a sub, so I'd start Taylor and see what he can do in 65 minutes up front.

Is it just me or does Brenes hate playing left back?

He hasn't played well there at all.

Parke has been our most consistent player. That would be real stupid if he didnt play. You would rather have Gilberto, a guy who has been out of action for a couple months, over our most consistent player. Sounds dumb to me. Plus, Clark is out so stop putting him the in lineups.

Looks like Tim is having a real bad sophomore jinx going on right now . This in addition to his poor freshman season leads me to believe he is not going to be around much longer. Has to be the worst passer on our team. More giveaways per minute than anyone we have. I would never play jhim at this point.
