I'm wanting to add an elite keeper into that equation as well.

Might be worth adding the words Transfer Thread to the title just coz lovers and madmen have such seething brains, such shaping fantasies, that apprehend more than cool reason ever comprehends.

Goonermaui, I think the thread's title should instead have:

And those things do best please me,
    That do befall preposterously.

The one keeper I would want Arsenal to get (Cech) isn't coming here (because Mourinho would rather swallow molten lava than give a title rival a leg up on him).

Of course - but there are still keepers out there who would be an upgrade over what we have. Perhaps they wouldn't fit into "elite" status.

I also follow Serie A so have watched Cavani for years. The guy is top class and if available is probably the only proven World Class CF on the market. If Jackson Martinez is €30m, then the margin value of another €10m for Cavani certainly seams worth it to me. Again I have no clue if he is on AW's short list, but if he is truly available he should be a top priority.

I would dare to say that he's Welbeck - pace (but he's still quick) + world-class finisher. Another tireless runner ala Sanchez; think of having Sanchez and Cavani as part of an attacking four and that's a big headache for defenders.

I'm not so sure Cech won't come here. I think he has the sway to decide where he'd like to go. The bigger question is if he wants to stay in London or go abroad.

If welbeck were an above average finisher he would be an elite prem cf. Sadly he is a donkey in front of goal

I truly don't believe he is available. Zlatan is 33 and prone to injuries lately and the PSG will do everything to keep Cavani. The club president basically said so last week.
His salary would be a major impediment as well. It would blow Arsenal wages structure.

Wenger asked by Chilean press if he likes Vidal: "If I tell you yes you will announce the transfer! Do I like him? Yes." #afc

We are not going to pay the 40m it would take to sign Vidal. Age, potential knee issues, and cheaper alternatives will ensure we look elsewhere.

Instead of one mega signing we will probably sign two 25m players - most likely Schneiderlin and Jackson Martinez. Nothing too exciting, but they add to the squad in areas we need reinforcement. Between the easing of FFP and Manutd/Real set to go nuts, we will likely be priced us out of the Ozil/Sanchez tier this summer.

Nah.... Not sure he really recovered from his long term injury. Morgan is a better pick.

I know Schneiderlein is on everyone's "want list". But what do y'all make of Ward-Prowse. I gotta think he's garner some offers as well.

Nope. I wasn't really even suggesting that we sign him, I just like his game and could see him develop into a great player. Just wondering if anyone else thought the same way - that's all.
