I'm predicting 6-1. Ireland goal comes from Campbell throwing the ball directly into the goal from 50 yards away.

But we're slow in the back!

    :p

A throw-in must touch a field player, or it doesn't count.
Corners are direct free kicks. Throw-ins are indirect.

01'07" 0-0 Lloyd passes to Rapinoe at 27m mid-left, no pressure allows a clean turn into a pocket as RoI drops back too quickly. Rapinoe drifts to 23m arc left, shoots toward upper left 90 -- Reid-Burke dives and double-blocks it wide and over.

02' 0-0 USA left corner, shanked poorly. USA regain, chip from above box ~mid-right to Rodriguez completely overlooked at 8m 6-left. Bad A-Rod shoots just high. Bad, bad A-rod :devilish:

05' 0-0 Roche fouls Krieger at circle right. Free kick into box, cleared to box top right. Press(?) takes it down box right, passes wide, cross toward 15m center cleared.

06' 0-0 USA to 15m wide right, soft diagonal pass to Lloyd at 7m mid-right. Cross blocked over.

07' 0-0 Krieger dribbles to box top right, sprawls 1-v-2 and loses it. Looks like this match will take place mostly in Ireland's 1/3

08' 0-0 USA down wide right, cross headed away.

09' 0-0 O'Sullivan overruns Klingenberg at 27m wide right, breaks away until the whistle.

10' 0-0 USA chip to Wambach through box top mid-left. She can't settle the over-the-shoulder drop, but takes it to box left foot, tools her defender.

10' 0-0 USA left ck, Press shoots from ~22m mid-right, wide left low.

    11' 0-0 Press turn-and-go to 24m centerline, shot misses?

13' 0-0 USA calm ping around center circle. RoI isn't a proper test for our dubious possession game ...

13' 0-0 Holiday passes from circle left to Rodriguez at 24m mid-left, one-touch square pass wide left to Klingenberg, one-touch diagonal in-pass for Rodriguez sprinting to box top -- #20 Jessica Gleeson intercepts and clears.

Vasquez: How many combat caps, Gleeson?
Gleeson: One ... including this one.

15' 0-0 USA chip to 6-top 3-left, scrum all jump for it. Rapinoe wins that contest, but heads across the 6. Wambach chases it down at 2m 6-right, backheel bounces off two defenders, and De Burca(?) outruns her for it.

    16' 0-0 Krieger(?!) shoots from ~box top mid-right, high.

18' 0-0 USA probe at 30m wide right, RoI's calm triangle plays base positioning and cleans up a hot mess. DiCicco notes: USA not fluid, mechanical --

19' 0-0 RoI left throw-in from rebel-base-in-range, Campbell heaves it to 6-top center  and USA chest it away. Rapinoe dribbles up left touch, O'Gorman slides late and hooks her shin. Yellow card on #18© Aine O'Gorman.

20' 0-0 Holiday(?) chips from circle top right as Wambach leans past the line at arc top left -- offside, replay shows even. Wambach jumps at 12m left post, glances a header wide left. DiCicco(?) not flattering her state of prep ...

22' 0-0 USA left corner, short? Klingenberg crosses from just inside box top left to 5m 5-right, Wambach snaps a header down but wide right.

Poor Rapinoe you know if this was any other day she would be up in the faces of these Irish players. But I guess you can't act out when your entire family is there

For every game Holiday wastes 3-4 corners

23' 0-0 Rapinoe gets ridden like a boogie board at 26m arc right -- by #8 Littlejohn?

24' 0-0 USA fk, Holiday into the wall. Rebounds to her, pass wide right to Krieger. Cross blocked over.

24' 0-0 USA right ck, to Wambach at 8m 3-left. Mistimed jump in traffic, misses her head and brushes the inside of her left forearm as it drops? RoI protest, no whistle, Wambach continues -- shoots left foot low, blocked over.

25' 0-0 USA left ck, bad.

Ugh. And she plays with no urgency when she loses the ball. It's really frustrating.
