If it's finalised, then it looks like our NT will have a busy 3 weeks:

    May 31 vs. Honduras
June 4 or 5 vs. Chile
    June 11 vs. St Kitts
    June 16 vs. St Kitts

Any other time would be great but this is cutting it way to close unless Roca is taking a "try-out" squad to Honduras and part of the main team to Chile I just don't want guys to pick up injuries.

I was actually going to mention that. I was wondering if Roca would use the try-out squad for all of those games. If you ask me, it would give the LMF players a better chance to prove themselves worthy of being in the NT over the abroad players.

I'm 100% sure the tryout squad can handle St Kitts, we don't need the abroad players for that.

No way I wouldn't risk a "try-out" squad against St. Kitts and Nevis, against Honduras definitely and maybe a mix squad against Chile but for the qualifier not worth the risk.

Hey its better than not doing anything!

I'd have the bench play the friendlies, see who can break into the starting 11 for the qualifiers. Also, have players who can be on the fringe for the Gold Cup play vs Chile.
Side note: I think this is gonna be a team that finally doesn't have a height advantage over us lol (chile) but they're football is top class. Should be a nice game

I'd totally understand if we were playing against one of the stronger teams like Honduras, CR, Mexico or USA, but it's only the second round and against a lesser Carribean team; bringing our "A-team" to dominate St Kitts will be like the Anguilla game all over again where we won 12-0.

Besides, I was under the idea that the tryout roster would look something like this and not a completely random squad.

Mate, believe me when I say I'm not complaining! :D

You know the last time we had this mentality going in was Guyana and we all saw how that ended up. Comparing Anguilla to St. Kitts is pretty insulting since Anguilla probably doesn't even have any pro players as compared to SKN who at least has two in MLS one in the Premier League and 2-3 in the lower divisions of England.

Even if we end up winning 20-0, we need out A team to all of these qualifiers. Our boys gotta gel to perfection, and this is added practice to the Gold Cup

In all fairness, the SKN players playing for English teams are English-born citizens whose parents are from St Kitts; much like our American-born players Carillo, Purdy, Punyed, Gerson, Richie and AA etc whose parents are from El Salvador. More points to the EPL player though.

I definitely get you, but the fact is that our A-team has struggled this year and last year, even against weaker teams like Belize and Nicaragua. It makes me wonder "Is our current team really our A-team? Is it worthwhile to have a look at other players instead?"

guys is there any truth to El Salvador vs. Honduras @ Cowboys Stadium in Arlington for May 31? The link below is El Salvador's profile on the main FIFA web site and it has that game program. Also I thought they were going to play against Honduras in Honduras with both teams using U23 players.

I'm confused I thought it was in DC guess they still don't have a confirmed venue.

Nope take out Ruso, Richie and Rafa watch those guys get called up despite the first two having not even played a game this season (Richie you can excuse somewhat due to being injured.)

Why not just have the game in either Honduras or El Salvador in one of the smaller stadiums (in our case Santa Tecla) would cut on the strain of travel especially if the Chile game is confirmed.

It isn't worthwhile. Our A team is a solid, good team (save Richie, Ruso, and Rafa [even though the guy gives heart, he sadly isn't what we need up top]). And if our A team is struggling, no need to mess with the lineup to have other players struggle.

    Well that's simple. $$$$

Ruso and Richie, specifically, are two of the abroad players I feel can definitely be replaced with an LMF player. Players like Ruso who get no game time shouldn't be called up, period. It sends the wrong message like "oh, I can go to a weak league like the NASL and my NT place will be safe even though I'm not getting any game time".

Rafa runs like a madman, you know that he's proud to represent us, and I respect that 100%. He's made terrible choices in his club career which set him back, that's for sure. Do we have anybody else from the LMF that can replace him upfront though? Inb4 Fito Zelaya.

Richie could be replaced by a number of players, we have a huge amount of players in the middle who play well (for club anyway.) I feel LB has a good amount also, with the two LB from the playoff yesterday looking good. RB not so much. And Jonathan Águila, Nelson Bonilla, and Rugamas are all great candidates for that forward position

Rugamas from Juve has more than earned his call up finished tied for second with 11 goals this season then Herrera who made the list last time around from Santa Tecla. Ditto on the first part but watch them make it anyways.

You can scratch Aguila he's out with an injury.

Irving Vladez, Orellana, Santos Ortiz, Christian Alvarez, to name a few for Menjivar.
Felt Dany Torres did very good for that RWB spot. Isben has been kinds iffy towards the end of the season, but I felt he did good. Tamacas might be able to also slide into that spot. I also just thought of Jairo getting that role. Now I'm wondering lol

I saw he was out for the tournament. Didn't manage to see how long he was actually out for?

Christian Alvarez? You gotta be kidding me!! The guy is like 50 years old... None of the guys you mention are anything special or worth giving enough playing time to adapt.. being so close to qualifiers.. Roca said it himself.. he doesnt have anyone better than Richie.. he rather have him start since hes had several games under his belt..!

Reality is.. there's no difference maker Midfielders in the ES league... for the most part they're all defensive minded.. they've always been (Renderos, Richie, R.Sanchez, D.Alas, Turcios).. we need someone who can go both ways and take the load off from Alvarez and whack a$$ J.Alas...!!

Christian had a decent season this year with FAS (the games I managed to see, which was mostly the big ones like Fas v Alianza, metapan, and Aguila). And if we're gonna talk about special players, Richard isn't anything special either. He's an average player with limited ability that plays because A: he's Américan and B: he plays in the NASL. And like I mentioned, those guys are just some I could come up with off the top of my head (which in this case is very limited anyways. I don't watch all the team like Dragon, Santa Tecla, Marte, Pasaquina, UES!).

That mentality is what brings our football down. Yeah, we don't have alot of players who are 'World Class', but we have many players who can make a difference in a game, even on the international level. Just because they aren't a Xavi or an Iniesta doesn't mean they aren't sufficient. Tbh, I look at this past u20 WCQ and see many players who played decent or good. Why not slide in Narciso next to Darwin? He's an undisputed starter for Metapan, our leagues champion 3x in a row and they finished first this season. That's just 1 of many examples that can be used. FFS, we have a striker in Rugamas who was second place in goals scored, and first place for a NT eligible player! But we have Rafa in the NT, who can't score a goal in a second division team to save his life, starting. SMDH

So curious to see who plays vs Honduras with it not being a FIFA date. Hoping for a happier ending then the last time the two played in RFK.
