Id like to see either Teal or Diego take his place in the second half... Heaps has to find SOMETHING that works. We're well into the season and still looking fairly bad most of the time. This lineup isnt working and isn't producing shots. Rowe is about the only change I can see... well...Maybe Davies out is another

Yes Teal needs to come in for Rowe and I'd actually like to see Okoli for Davies or Agudelo. Charlie hasn't done much today, nor has Agudelo. Maybe you take out Juan given his travel and minutes in Texas midweek. Probaly would take out Lee about the 70' maybe for Neumann, although I don't expect much from him.

PS drink every time Twellman brings up Tierney's left foot and how much they miss him. 4-5x so far today.

    Tierney in for Alston
    Bunbury in for Rowe

Alright now let's get one back and send these suckers back to the basement where they belong.

Philly is exhausted, the Revs are well rested. Plus they suck, both today and in general. If we don't put at least 3 goals into the net I will be disappointed.

Hey Twellman, of course there will be a transfer fee for Diego after the u20 WC. We need to replenish our rainy day fund to collect dust for the next 10 years so may as well sell high.

Teal and Diego trying their best to keep Rowe on the bench next week.

And they should..both are better...besides, if hes sitting on the bench, he can dream of a NAT callup.... in yur dreams Munson!

Woodbury is a better CB than Farrell. After this game I think our best back 4 would be
    Tierney-Woodberry-Jones-Farrell

The problem, with that is you sacrifice JJ's vision upfield. He should really be in Dorman's role.

I don't see how Heaps could possibly start Rowe next week. It has to be obvious that he is not in the best 11.

Good to see the team grind one out.

Ease off Rowe. None of the attacking players has stung together more than two good games in a row. He was arguably the best player in match 3 and 4, that's why he started. He may sit more in the next few games, but he'll be out there contributing. He's not the chubby kid with a beer belly that he was the second half of his rookie season.

Game of two halves, obviously. In the first half, all the outfield players were logy and out of synch, with the exception of Woodberry, who was a pleasant surprise, and the amazingly consistent Caldwell still solid.

Second half much better, with all three subs looking inspired, and completely changing the tone of the game. I agree with the conclusion, if not the reasoning, that Bunbury and Fagundez would be logical choices to start over Rowe and Agudelo next week. Tierney also added substantially coming in for KA.

I was looking at Transfermarkt before the game. I'm starting to think that a D-mid would be the logical player to bring in when the window opens. Seeing JJ at CB reinforced that.

Could be wrong given Klinsy likes him there but I suspect JJ was an emergency starter at CB due to the Barnes and JoGo injuries. I commented upthread that he had a strong performance at CB today so I agree with your sentiment, however we lose his vision further upfield. Would suggest Woodberry could pair JoGo in the middle and Farrell could go back to RB.

To me, the issue is at left mid as there's currently a void there. If Fagundez goes in the summer we'll need to replace him. A speedy winger could do wonders.

Boy did Teal and Diego immediately made an impact on that game. That was probably the strongest (physically) game I've watched Diego play. He out muscled defenders to stay on the ball 2 or 3 times and beat out Letoux on a 50-50 ball all in the last few minutes. Plus the inch perfect cross to Teal for the lead. He'll put together a really good season for himself if he plays like that every week.

Jones playing the fully CB role made a huge difference. Goncalves/Farrell both get too far forward, and we get exposed. Jones rarely got involved with the attack, which is probably a wasting some of his abilities, but it made a huge difference stability wise.

I dunno, Jones seemed out of place as CB. I was at philly, so not able to see from all angles, but he looked out of position and a lot. I love having Jones, but in his 'natural' position midfield. You can tell he was itching to get back.

Woodberry made a case to start again. I would keep him where he was and not move him to CB. Look at the quality of crosses he served in. That and his tactical awareness were much better that expected.

Best game from Diego in a long time. Maybe it was the timing of when he entered the game with Phily opening up and leaving more space to work. The most encouraging thing was his work rate and that showed defensively.

Row was awful. I asked my son what he thought Rowe would bring in a trade. His response: "A used washing machine". At this point I would be tempted. Turnover after turnover.

Teal looked hungry. I like a hungry Teal.

He's a dreamer...dreaming of that NAT callup. I'm not sure what color the sky is on whatever world he lives in but he has to be totally delusional if he thinks he has any shot at a NAT callup. Personally, I'd keep Diego and trade Rowe at the end of this year. I believe we have Diego in a 3 or 4 year contract now so no worries there.

I just hope Heaps does the right thing and sits him down. He deserves it and Diego and(or) Teal deserve a shot at starting.

If Woodberry can keep up that kind of play (and those types of crosses), and Tierney does the same from the other side ... watch out.
