And? Why didn't he re-sign? If he chooses not to re-sign, how is that out fault? He wasn't good enough to crack the first team at SCP, or Parma. He's not good enough period.
I never said he wasn't. I said on the last post, can't see him being any better than Nuno Reis. My point is that he probably wouldn't want to come back because his last couple of years here probably werent all that fun for him. And he did crack the first team at both SCP and Parma
Matheus Pereira, the most talented player of the 96 generation, by far, isn't moving to Monaco as all the papers were saying. He just signed a new contract till 2020. This is grat news, the kid is really good but I had lost all hope of keeping him. Now I think he'll join the B team squad, even though the U19 could really use his help, but I don't think he has much to evolve at that level anymore.
Haha, just posted in the Academy thread, but yes great news and good move by BdC, we need to keep quality players and Matheus has more quality/maturity than Podence and Gelson, who've already played for the first team in the cup.
He and Diego Lopes should both be naturalised, they learnt all their proper football in Portugal and it would be another great option to have
Iuri Medeiros had a fantastic game today for Portugal's u21 team. He came on for the injured Bruma close to the end of the first half, and still managed to score a beautiful long range goal before the halftime, but it wasn't given by the linesman who said it didn't completely cross the line. It did. I'm pretty sure that he'll be our first addition to the team for the next season, with the way he has been playing dor Arouca and with the certain departure of Nani, the more than likely Carrillo departure and with the hopeful Capel departure.
Why? He's not really that short (1,74 m). Plus where he plays, height isn't really that necessary. Btw according to reports from Record, Rubio and Labyad agreed to cut their wages in half in order to play for Sporting next season.
Sadly Matheus said in an interview to Lancenet this week that his dream is to play for Brazil. He said he has considered playing for Portugal but that his priority is Brazil. And with his talent they would be idiots not to take a look at him.
I think we will. He's been consistent and looks in good physical shape, I don't see any need to find another alternative, Éwerton should be Oliveira's partner next season. And, along with Tobias, it would leave us with at least 3 CB that give me full confidence, which hasn't happened in a while.
Silly season has already started. In the last 4/5 weeks, here's a list of names linked with a move to Sporting: Helder Lopes, RB/LB, Paços de Ferreira Kapino, GK, Mainz Samaras, FW, Al-Hilal Bruno Fernandes, FW, Vizela Joel Campbell, FW, Arsenal Jake Beckford, MF, Limón Samu, MF, Boavista Uvini, CB, Napoli Guidetti, FW, Manchester City Bryan Ruiz, FW, Fulham Lamine Koné, CB, Lorient Castaignos, FW, Twente Danilo Silva, DM, Braga Marçal, LB, Nacional Danilo Pereira, DM, Marítimo Aly Ghazal, DM, Nacional Belfodil, FW, Parma Bruno Alves, CB, Fenerbahçe Cristiano, GK, Sporting Braga Hassan, FW, Rio Ave Sadio Mane, FW, Southampton Mattia de Sciglio, RB, Milan Kachunga, FW, Paderborn
Linked to SKC and U.S. Player Erik Palmer-Brown Zakaria Labyad and Iuri Medeiros to be recalled from loans and integrated into squad BDC says he is not selling anyone aswell which I find hard to believe but if true then he is serious
Medeiros is more talented, Mané is more competitive, hence why he made the first team before Medeiros. Right now I'm all excited with the Azorean, but I really like both.
Azbe Jug is joining us, it's confirmed on our newspaper. He ran out of contract with Bordeaux where he was Carrasso's sub and he is Slovenia's U21 starting goalie.
Was their starting goalie. Hasn't played a senior game in a while. Seems like a signing for the sake of a signing, like most of last years signings. Strange to say the least. Hopefully Boeck isn't leaving, probably the most passionate player we have at the club.
There's a strong possibility that Bruno Alves might be about to sign with us. There are numerous newspapers confirming that the deal is done.
Inkie is right, it's a very strong possibility even if the major sportspapers haven't picked it up yet.
Looks like BdC is trying to give a big ******** you to the rivals, first with JJ and now with Alves Never been a huge fan of him personally. Could be a good influence on Tobias, who is a similar type of player tho.. Bryan Ruiz's scoring record leaves a lot to be desired as well..
