It seemed high risk, average reward. I saw a bunch of union games, there were times I feared Casey's achilles were going to snap. I felt so bad for him because he needed to be managed like an elder player. Imagine if he had a strong 2nd striker and someone who could play half of his games.
Sapong could be that guy, no idea. Bunbury has had a resurgence in a new team, perhaps it's CJ's turn. And now that Sporting do not have to face them in anything aside from Cup matches, I'm very much hoping that he does discover some sick form.
Last year at the Union game at Toyota Park right after the World Cup ended, I think was his 3rd game in 8 days. Every time the Fire back line pushed the offside line forward you could see Casey looking over at them with a look that said "seriously!? screw you guys" [in full Cartman voice]
Well he was keeping him from a starting sport. But now it looks like this is resolved as Luke is starting. Mulholland is a young and up and coming player and I look forward to seeing him leading the RSL midfield once Morales retires. Luis Gil is washed out much like Freddy Adu
The only people who are washed out at the age of 21 are child actors and members of boy bands. Not soccer players.
TBF, Seitz was terrible in 2010 in Philly. Absolutely horrendous. He had 0 shutouts and a 60% save percentage in 23 games. Part of that was the defense, but Knighton played 8 games and had 2 shutouts and 70% save percentage. Seitz seemed to have blunder after blunder that year. It all started with this:
I'm assuming what I hear the announcer says after the goal is "he's so crafty" in reference to Moreno, but it reeeeally sounds like he says "he's so [another c word im not sure I can post]" in refernce to Seitz
FWIW, that wasn't exactly a legal play by Moreno, and the goal that eventually got him benched was a bizarre bounce of a divot in the turf that flew 6 ft in the air. ...but yeah, he was bad, but people always cite the wrong reasons for it.
Many have seen me comment with 'J-League keeping' as a term to describe GKing gaffes. Well, exhibit A of what I am talking about. Indecisiveness, bad timing, or just fear is a trend with GKers in Japan. And yes, that is Diego Forlan in their second division.
I know, but it was the easiest clip I could find to post here. And I never did blame him for the divot goal either. But he was indecisive and flappy on crosses and let in goals he should have stopped. He was a much cheaper version of M'Bohli.
