When you work for a food service company like that you usually just go to another location if they have openings. My brother did that for a while with another company (can't remember the name). I would also bet a lot of Sodexo employees are seasonal.
The problem is that there aren't many big time Sodexho operations left. They lost the OSU accounts, and they lost the Clippers account. In most cases, Levy hired the existing employees and retrained them.
In Columbus sports, isn't it DNC with the Blue Jackets and Levy with all other teams (Crew, Clippers, Buckeyes)? I know I missed the D2 and D3 schools (ODU, Capital, Otterbein), but I don't know if they have a foodservice contract for sporting events or just buy stuff at the local GFS.
From what I was able to gather over the last few minutes, Levy offered the old employees jobs. O course, there was no obligation to accept the offer.
Pretty meh when it comes to all Four String beers, some stuff from Seventh Son would be awesome. I hope one of the local breweries (CBC I'm looking at you) will create a special beer just for Crew SC.
I'm actually not a fan of the 7th Son beers, but I agree with you on Four String. I'd also love to seen a ground up Crew beer, not just a rebrand of existing label like Elevator did. I would think Land Grant would be a good candidate for that as well, what with an old Hooligan having strong ties with the ownership. Also their Kolsch is fantastic, I could drink that stuff like it's water.
I do like their Kolsch, though it's not *quite* like it is in Cologne. I think they tend to make it a little too hoppy (and to be fair, I've seen that on occasion in export Kolsches, especially Gaffel).
Glad they're giving people options. I personally enjoy Four String and think CBC and Elevator are vastly overrated.
I enjoy Elevator though I'm not as familiar with them as I will be after this season. CBC (may not be a popular opinion here) is some awful beer, period. I think that their employees fart into the fermenting tank prior to sealing it. ...I'll drink Budweiser *GASP* *OH NOES* before I drink their stuff.
Yikes. We have it sooooo good despite the differing tastes in beer. If they read this thread right now, they would think, "Screw it. Were going back to BUDWEISER, BUD LIGHT, MOOODELLLLOOOO." I think I'm going to start farting in my beer because, for my palate, CBC must be doing something right.
As long as I can get lit up before the game by purchasing a 12 pack of beer for about $1 a beer, I don't need to get raped by the cost of a microbrew inside the stadium.
Might as well chime in... I love CBC beers Bodhi, Creeper, their inky Sohio stout), and can't wait to see what Eric Bean does once the new facility on the west side opens up and he has capacity to play with. I like Four String, too, but assume they've not hit their stride yet. I find their beers good, if not exceptional. Elevator has undergone a dramatic metamorphosis as a brewery since they decided to get serious about their beer a few years ago. All in all, these come across as solid choices to offer at the stadium. The best thing about Seventh Son is their location/setting (which is pretty cool). I don't think their beers are bad, just uneven and not, to me, memorable at all. For me, though, I just can't wait for Lineage to open in Clintonville in a few weeks. Looks to have a similar vibe to Seventh Son. Hopefully, the beers will be better.
Seems to be a new intro or team song. They had the guys doing it at the Supporters Summit. Meh to me, but others may like it.
The story goes that Kid Runner was playing the song to all the Crew SC top brass including 3G. There was something about how the mood of the room changed or how everyone liked when the beat dropped. It is reported that 3G said, "Well why don't you drop it twice." It became a meme. After our first goal on Saturday, I think the chat of "Drop It Twice" should start.
The Subway stand is gone, replaced by the Columbus/Ohio beer stand. Also new to the stadium this year is a ramen noodle stand. I'm sure @Kyle Crew will be happy.
