I don't wonder at all, it has become more and more apparent that he sucked at the business side of what he did.
I made peace (the best I could) long ago with stadium naming rights. It *is* just for money, and "everyone else is doing it." (Still doesn't seem quite right that it's not Cleveland Browns Stadium anymore). As long as we're not like the Dolphins and have a new name for our stadium every 5 or so years!! (One of those names was ProPlayer Stadium, a type of underwear from Fruit of the Loom. Talk about bad names! IIRC, FotL discontinued that line of underwear, and wound up suing to change the name on the stadium, lost the suit, and wound up spending millions of dollars on a stadium name for a type of underwear they no longer even made!) As KG78 said, at least it's not Bimbo Stadium.
One VERY CRITICAL thing has not been discussed up to this point in this whole rebranding and the stadium naming rights issue. Something of VITAL that CANNOT be overlooked. Something that affects us all. These changes MUST NOT result in a change in the quadrennial dos-a-cero mojo!!!
It sounds like we're getting more games. But honestly, I think a lot of us would just have one game if that one game every four years is dos a cero.
You can listen to almost all of Adams' audiobooks on YouTube. If you can listen while you commute it makes the drive a little better.
Apparently I didn't IIRC... How about more games AND a dos-a-cero every four years? (or to quote Deion Sanders: "Bof.") Good point. Problem is: my YouTube feed during my commute SUCKS. Always cutting out. I'm assuming the audio books are read by someone with an English accent? That inherently makes humor even funnier--adds an element of authenticity for me, I suppose. (I think I have the "Monty Python" gene).
And since Sigi made it crystal clear that McCullers was to have zero role on the soccer side, that would only leave the question of exactly what it was he was good at. Although in fairness whatever it was was better than how Jim Smith did it. So there's that.
Yeah, and although I find few redeeming qualities in MM, I do give him credit for giving the keys to Sigi and just letting him go to work. That's not always easy for GMs in any sport. Of course he only managed to get him to stay for a couple of years, but oh well.
