So where would the money for the supposed third DP be coming from? Somebody (Lopez and/or Smith) must feel that Ramirez is going to produce for the Rapids quickly and in a few seasons time be off to Europe for more than they invested in him.
that or he flops or gets injuried realizes he made a mistake does silly things to get benched ( torres)
Kind of a short contract given fee we are playing, I would think 4-5 years would be more in line with biggest payout Rapids have made to date.
Optimistic count: Brown; Torres; Sanchez; Ramirez; (Doyle); Serna. Likely impactful attacking forwards and wings. It's at least something to work with.
Doyle +/- = Casey, Brown +/- = Cummings, 2015 +/- = MLS Cup? Probably some serious flaws in my 'math'.
Best math I've seen on here yet! EDIT: Whose Kandji +/-?? Need that goal if history is going to repeat!
I'm glad they were able to get a picture of him in his college dorm room kitchen. EDIT: I do see that it's the medical room-- but I swear those are the exact cabinets and countertops in 90% of college dorm kitchens across the country.
Shouldn't his ass be in Vegas! Get him there, ASAP! For those interested Juan can be followed on Twitter at https://twitter.com/juan_ramirez_11 It looks like he has a young family so let's make sure they get all the love and support when spotted at DSGP. It's a huge move and probably more than nerve wrecking.
So where's the official announcement . It seems to be a departure from previous seasons where the Rapids would have had coverage of his arrival, etc., prior to his official signing. It would seem they are waiting till all is in place - ITC, etc.
All things being equal, I like waiting to dot i's and crossing T's over early announcement than chaos, we signed/ we didn't, ITC issues, etc.
It's much better because we still have this thread and most of the information, we're just not making the front office the punchline of all our jokes.
Just thinking the same thing. Interesting that there are photos of him at DSGP but we're not getting any new news.
My guess is they are waiting until they have that all-important ITC in hand before announcing the deal. The RFO has been left standing at the alter far too many times and let's hope for everyone's sake they learned to get all the affairs in order before opening their pie holes. I think those picture were from his personal Twitter account and not from the Rapids directly. Still, though, you would think there might be some acknowledgement that they are in negotiations, talks, etc. from the RFO.
Sure, but after we've all chastised them time after time for making premature announcements that didn't come to fruition I can't fault them for handling Ramirez the way they are. Heck, I'm even willing to give them credit for playing it smart this time.
Oh I agree. I think the fact that they haven't announced it (unlike Jose Mari) is an indicator that they are waiting for something like the ITC that they believe will be more tricky than it was with Jose Mari.
Well, the transfer fee being split between Argentinos Juniors and another entity could complicate things a bit also, as I'm sure each party has a considerable economic interest. I hope he will join the rest of the team soon so he can integrate well with the players before the start of the season. Team concept and chemistry is so important, so I hope he can feel like he belongs, is part of the organization and build familiarity and confidence on and off the pitch with his new teammates. Heck, a young professional can get homesick and depressed if he doesn't start to bond with new people in a new country, so there are a lot of reasons we should hope he gets with the team as soon as possible.
