One might also ask why it's practically impossible to take a COTA bus to a match, given that the closest stops - using Google Maps - are, respectively, 0.8 and 0.9 miles away from the stadium. In a world where customers mattered, the FO would have years ago worked out an arrangement with the city and with COTA to have a better public transit option, but that would require a level of competence and influence heretofore unseen from the Crew organization.

Does Fado still do buses for some games?

It's equally likely, though, that COTA just doesn't care, as COTA has never been very good on cross town routes. The Crew has worked out a deal with CarToGo, for example. If we'd gotten the downtown stadium, this would be moot. But this stadium was the only way to keep the team, so we're stuck with a location that has some minuses. Parking is one of those. A plus is that it is very visible from a major highway and highway access is relatively good.

I wouldn't recommend trying to cross the tracks - the railroad cops (actual state/federal railroad cops) are out every week now and will give you a hefty fine. Walking on 17th is the only option, as you can't enter by foot via Hudson anymore.

unless they've gone with a different company to use, I don't think so...The guy I work with drove the bus from Fado's to the stadium and he hasn't done it in a couple of years...

So the Hudson Street thing is a new policy? I know you couldn't enter from Gate #19, but now you cannot enter via the two other gates on the East side of the stadium?

So slight critique on the card, it arrives in a booklet, and it's stuck on the back of the first page with that sticky gummy stuff stuff, it ripped a little bit of the page... I got some finger nail polish to get it off which kinda worked..but it started to also take off the lettering on the card... So advice for my fellow ticket holders, find another way to get the stuff off :)

I wouldn't mind taking a shuttle; the problem is: I'm always running late to get there anyway...
I "had" to park in the Xenos lot once (running late); did not get towed, but was nervous the whole game...

When you say "revenue enhancement", I assume you mean "place to stake out during events looking for parking violators"?
Didn't know there was such a thing! (Never crossed the tracks anyway). Good to know you can't just walk in from Hudson. Always went in from 17th before...

I still think someone is wasting time and money vs not building a fence, but hey...if it's someone's job to write tickets, I suppose it's good for the economy.

I'd still like to know if the railroad cops are out there only during games or if it's a 24/7 operation. If someone who lives west of the tracks has a dog, the grassy areas of the CCS parking lot has got to be a tempting place to let the dog run around.

What's all this? Is this a new policy for this year? Every game I've gone to the past couple of years I have walked across Hudson to get to the north entrance to the stadium. Are they not letting pedestrians in?

Sorry, I think I misspoke on this point - you can walk from Hudson, you just gave to go around to the NE corner, iirc. I think it just pissed me off because I was tailgating with folks on the West side of the stadium, so we had to walk allll the way around the stadium (clockwise). It's just hella inconvenient.

I used to live on Wyandotte (which would intersect the stadium if it kept going) about 3 houses in from the tracks. We were stoked that we could just walk to the games, but quickly found out (via formal warning from the rr cops) we'd have to go all the way to 17th or Hudson and then back up/down. Made a .5mi walk into about 2mi.

Anyway, they're *absolutely* never there except during games. I used to pace up and down the tracks for hours while talking on the phone to friends or my SO.

A fence? Seriously? Way too many miles of track in these United States to do that. Fences are not cheap. And it's like saying that if you don't build a fence, anyone can cut though your yard. It's private property, and trains can kill because they cannot stop on a dime. Add to that, some of the new diesels are really quiet--and they go over 60 in that corridor (I've paced them in 71 once or twice from EN Broadway up past Cooke).

What bothers me is all the people who park for free at Lowe's and then block traffic getting out after the match because they dart in front of cars causing stop and start or the traffic monitors stop the flow of cars for every person crossing in front of the exit.

Yeah, I believe the logic on that is that since there's no sidewalk and not enough space to safely walk and have the vehicles coming in...when in fact, there's a huge grassy area between the salt barn and the road.
