Incredible victory today, wow is this ever sweet. Full 6 points achieved from this english week and done in style as well. These Hoffenheim games are usually crazy roller coaster rides but we held firm control today with a complete team effort.

Looks like we'll be without Di Santo for our match versus Leverkusen today, as he continues to recover from a thigh problem encountered during the week. Tough break because he's been absolutely on fire to start the second half. Selke features up top while Felix Kroos will take Franco's place in the starting lineup as we go for more defensive stability in the midfield. Sternberg also selected again to start the game.

Starting XI: Wolf - Gebre Selassie, Galvez, Vestergaard, Sternberg - Bargfrede, Fritz, Kroos, Junuzovic - Bartels, Selke

Bench: Casteels - Lukimya, Caldirola, Garcia - Öztunali, Aycicek, Eggestein

Geeze guys, put your net on the goals properly ;). Looks like gorgeous weather in Bremen.

Son on the bench for the Pharmacy after nearly killing himself with exhaustion in Australia last week I imagine. That final, Australia vs. Korea, was an epic. Shame the world really couldn't give a flying fluck

Aussie athletes always rise to the occasion, especially at summer Olympic games. Us Canadians too, as long as the sport is played in minus zero temperatures. :p

FEK! What a counter, one-touch magic from halfway

Lol. Expect us to win the 2022 world cup in Qatar!

Can't remember the last time I watched a game like this - both teams with such an attacking mindset, can't look away for two seconds for fear of missing something. Pharmacy really going to have to go for it, so there's gonna be counter opportunities aplenty. More goals please :D

Sounds like you called it, Leverkusen pull one back just before the half. These wide open high scoring battles were the norm back in the Thomas Schaaf days. What I like about Skripnik is that he's instilled a stronger sense of defensive focus since he's taken over while balancing with effective offensive tactics.

What a start to 2015! Another win, three more points, and launches us right into the top 10 in standings. Tone of the game shifted towards more compact and defensive for the second half but a very rewarding result at the end. Incredible energy from the fans also making Weserstadion a fortress once again. This victory really sends a statement of the progress we've made.

This is amazing! Love the fact that Skripnik is Werder through and through, too.

Incredible run of form. Exactly what we needed to right the ship! We are now in sight of a Euro League spot if we can keep healthy and extend this good form to pick up some big results. Augsburg will be a huge test for us. Would be absolutely delighted to get that win to keep climbing the table. Whatever Skripnik is doing, its working. Maybe its the green and white blood runs through his veins!

I expect a closely contested tactical battle against Augsburg. Both teams have been steadily rising and playing constructive football. Bargfrede's box to box game has been immense and a big factor on this strong run. Shame that Galvez will be out for some time. Him and Vestergaard have built together a very cohesive defensive core. Prödl is nearing his return soon though which will help a lot.

15 minutes till kick off, Bremen fans throwing the odd picture up on facebook, here they are for that 'being there' feeling ;). I miss this place aside from the massive toilet line .

    May the best team win

Werder fans always travel in style. The Veltins Arena is gonna rock with all this added energy. Looks like Di Matteo is going with a more youthful lineup this match ours. Should be a fun game. :)

Opa Fritz looking like a liability out there again. Thank goodness for Vestergaard and Lukimya with some timely defending.

Man Garcia and his decision making sometimes. He had a 4-vs-3 on the counter attack and support emerging on both wings but chooses to launch a shot from like 40 yards out.

Much better forward sequences now. Di Santo with a couple nice chance. Juno then with a well-won tackle to create an effective counter. Followed by some lovely wing play for another close one. We have presence in the centre, just missing that key pass.

Pretty even, I think Schalke have had more possession and shots, but Di Santo probably had the two best chances of the game, along with Benni at the end. Got a feeling this one will be a 'first goal wins' situation now

Someone needs to teach Matip how to use his head

Damn, that's what happens when you don't connect and play goes the other way. Wolf really should of had that.

We're gonna need a late comeback from this one.

That's why they say it's not over till it's over. Crazy things can happen just like in the Augsburg-Leverkusen game haha. In fairness that would be a tough save for any keeper, especially a rising header from a 6'4 player right in front of goal. I think a 1-1 draw is a fair result. Schalke looked quite organized and closed off many of our chances in the second half. Also a near nail-biter from you guys towards the closing minutes after we equalized. Good thing Wolf and defenders held it together.
