Yes, we are, and our colors are black and gold. I was hoping for more of a discussion/elaboration. Such as... I hated the all black/all white and all the other monochromes MLS had back then. NO club identity. (Plus all the kits were hideous, including our stripes at the shoulders, IMO.) Seeing us on opening day 2000 trotting out of the tunnel in the all yellow was a beautiful sight. I can see your point. But I dislike monochrome in general. If we had kept the yellow shirt/black shorts thru the '08 and '09 seasons, would people be thinking differently? Yes, the team shouldn't be worrying about their uniforms, although they do say "the clothes make the man." (perhaps that's undermining my argument) I think at Houston and in Seattle with their Puke, er, I mean Rave Green.
Gotta hand it to KC--nobody else in the world that I can think of has a pattern like that. Unique for sure. As NE, maybe there are also a lot of Lokomotive Moscow fans in Boston? Supposedly reflects the green on the tree in the New England flag. I would love to see, to coincide with some new SSS in Boston, a rebrand to green to match Boston's Irish heritage, and to have one less red- or blue- based team. (and, up until last season, another monochrome!)
love both kits, can't wait to get them... it is weird not seeing LH on it.. wonder if they will still have an unveil party..
I'm far more convinced now that we've found differences between the home and away kits, and you've got these additional pics. But what is your source? Where did you find these other pics? Just curious.
Rather than posting a bunch of detail photos of the new DCU secondary jersey, here is a link that also includes some explanation. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ry-jersey-with-a-tribute-to-their-supporters/ The Chicago Fire's away kit for the 2015 season: pic.twitter.com/FGFS1LwI7g (via @conradburry)— Phil Hecken (@PhilHecken) February 8, 2015
On the site that accidentally listed some MLS jerseys for sale. They the primary kit for sale a few days ago. They didn't post the black jersey for sale, but I figured out where to look for the images.
I love that SKC kit, but only because it reminds me of a shirt my grandpa would have worn. That NE though, wow...
Nice thing about the SKC shirt is you can wear it on causal friday at work. Your boss will think you are a snappy dresser and invite you to the country club to play a few holes with Migg and Hank. Then you can talk about tax shelters and how much Tony Robbins has changed their lives What a lark!
I don't know about that. The people who created my engineering computation paper and the people who created my calculation pads were big fans of grids, too.
It's official - Precourt tweeted holding the black kit and Parkhurst tweeted with him in the all-yellow. Think they "leaked" these early because preorders have been slow? Both are for sale on the webstore now and you include customization options in the notes when placing the order. The image of the yellow replica shows the two-tone checkerboard well. Also differences between replica and authentic star and MLS patches are visible. Replica is climacool even though they say climalite and authentic is listed as climalite but its image shows adizero fabric. I wonder how they will contact people who preordered before today for style and customization options? http://crewscshop.com/collections/jerseys/products/adidas-columbus-crew-sc-primary-replica-jersey
Absolutely. I appreciate the high quality of the images on the store as well. Helps with purchase selection. Only thing I'd like to see yet is what the numbers and fonts are like for customization.
The only situation I would do customization would be a player with my last name signing for The Crew. Ireland isn't really cranking out players with my last name at a high rate so I don't see that ever happening.
There seems to be a number of noticeable differences between the replica and authentic jerseys. The replicas don't have the 'Columbus Crew SC' lettering on the back, and there is no checker pattern on the back at all.
With jerseys, and I have way too many, I usually only customize my favorite number with no name. The crew store or website I order from normally asks me if I made a mistake. Especially the Germans when I got my 2010 Wolfsburg. I did customize a black and yellow racing strip Schelotto from a couple of seasons back and a Gaven white. I'm seriously thinking about an Higuain this time.
The yellow is already starting to grow on me. The black looks sharp. As for a third, didn't someone post that there would be no thirds this year? If we get a third, let's not do what the USMNT did with the 2010 "crossing guard" sash jerseys, and have all three with the same template... In the MLS jersey thread, someone posted a KC Zusi jersey with the font and number. There is a diagonal line of some sort through the number, in the same manner of that stupid "kick stand, window into MLS' world" badge we now have. Speaking of which, not to be a eurosnob, but why can't MLS pick a font and keep it year after year like the EPL does? Isn't this like the 4th font they've had since unifying everyone around ~'04 maybe? People are drawn to the jersey, not its font. The original "unified" font looked fine. Each one since then has been progressively worse.
