Alright, if we need a reason to call it an "Emergency" I have two words for FIFA...Will Bruin! EMERGENCY!!!!!
I asked Chris and he said that Torres can come earlier than July. We'll see when he shows up. EDIT: Here's the article: http://orangeintheoven.com/2015/01/08/clarification-erick-torres-loan/
Recorded Saturday's Chivas vs Chiapas game expecting to see Torres with some minutes. He ddn't start or get subbed in. Should I be surprised given his cost?
Get fit? Why was he not in shape to begin with?! I thought Torres was a projected national team player for the Gold Cup and potential Copa America competition this summer for the Mexican national side. What was he doing recently? Thinking he wouldn't play for a senior club side? Chivas coulda used him Sat night. They got zero points from the evening in what is considered their urgent attempt to avoid relegation for the first time ever. Club America would love to see that I am sure. And what a hit it would be for Chivas fans across both borders to lose "their" MLS team and get relegated in back-to-back seasons.
Not worried, but yes surprised. Maybe Torres is just using the full Mexican League Clausura season to get ready for a monster scoring season in MLS with the Dynamo.
I don't think tou have to worry about Chivas being relegated when the FMF allows team owners to "buy" themselves out of relegation.
true, but it would be difficult for Chivas to pull that off because it only aligns Mexican nationals. if you acquire Puebla you would have to revamp ⅓ of the roster. i want them to get relegated just to see how they pull it off.
He got on the field today against pumas. He did an alright job. I think he needs to start next game. Can't wait until he comes back.
I'll be at the game at Omnilife this weekend (it got moved to Saturday from Sunday. Apparently there is some other sporting event on Sunday?) so hopefully Cubo will start, or at least step on the field.
I wish I would have gone to the CopaMX game last week when there were literally hundreds of fans there and he played the full game (and did very well too.) He probably could have come up in the stands and chatted during halftime.
He kissed their crest after scoring the goal. I guess I can't be too mad he has been there all his life.
Actually watched the game and saw the header, good goal! The most interesting thing I took away from that game was not Cubo playing so well, it was the inquiry of the commentators about Cubo's status with Chivas. It went something like this: 1st guy: "So does Chivas have the option to buy Cubo at the end of the season?" 2nd guy apparently shakes his head to him confirming no cuz the first guy says "Oh no I guess not" 1st guy: "He will go to Houston and the end of this season with Chivas" (with disbelief in his voice) 1st guy: "Well maybe Chivas can change that with the swagger that they have" This mentality of MLS taking 2nd option even though there are contracts that are signed will continue until FIFA steps in a punishes any league that aids in breaking contracts. The Camilo incident that happened to Vancouver still haunts me with us signing Cubo knowing there is a team like Chivas with interest and temporary control. I won't buy his jersey till he plays here more than 1 year. Until then it's Davis or Barnes jersey this year (uless it's a shitty kit).
