Eh....was never going to match Jose's 1st spell with us anyways. Damn.....and I made ton of fun of my MUnited friend yesterday....I feel I'll get some and more today.
I'm not torn up. Spurs, Citeh, and us just bounced. This frees up our fixture list. We lost to a League One side who bossed us for most of the match. Fully deserved winners today. We'll done today Bradford City. Enjoy it. 6000 fans traveled to the Bridge. One of the greatest upsets in the history of the Cup.
This is nothing short of a disgrace, I suggest one or two of (the second team) never wear the shirt again.
I think this game emphasises our lack of real depth, Mikel, Ramires, Salah and Drogba are all either not good enough or are past it. Bradford deserved it by all accounts but that shouldn't excuse the way we played. We should have the strength in the team put out today to get past a Bradford side playing their best game ever. Not to be disrespectful to Bradford but we are flying in the league, the players out there today need to have a good look at themselves.
this chelsea lineup wins this match 4/5 times at least on another day. they were probably just a lacking focus with liverpool midweek and league and CL matches to worry about. when you're in the semis of the COC, last 16 of the CL, and leading the league, do you really want additional FAC fixtures clogging an already loaded schedule?
This is the FA cup, not the Carling/Coca Cola or whatever the f*ck they call it now cup. They have just played Bradford not Bayern Munich......and at HOME too, it doesn't matter which angle you look at this from its a complete and utter disgrace, they haven't just been beaten but outplayed.....at home.....against Bradford.......and have not lost by an odd lucky goal either, they have just let in FOUR!! Disgraceful is the only word here.
I could accept taking the foot off of the gas for a game like this if we didn't have a team pretty much stacked full with players trying to win a place in the first team which will be playing the aforementioned League, CL and COC games. Ramires, Remy, Salah and Mikel are all players who haven;t played as much this season, Christensen is a younger player so I don't blame him for anything. Drogba shouldn't be playing he's past it, Cahill and Zouma should do better, Dave just came back from an injury and Cech couldn't do much with any of the goals really.
Usually people freak out, say the sky is falling and then eventually move on. Lucky for us, we qualify for the FA Cup next year.
Jose was spot on. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/lates...ict--unacceptable-but-looking-to-respond.html
On the plus side it's good to see the return of a few posters. Hope you can stick around for the good results too I'm really glad this wasn't on tv. Really, really glad.
Whilst I feel we have got room in our squad to improve with the back up players, they do need the rotation when necessary, this will keep them sharp but you would expect them to try as hard as they could to stop being the back ups. Our team sounded like a bunch of pay checkers today, just happy to sit on the bench and get their money type players. I feel we need to make sure we push on from this and make sure this NEVER happens again, we also can not do an Arsenal where we have a run of 2/3 bad weeks which sees us fall out of every competition. I doubt a Jose team would do that but it's still something that needs to be made sure doesn't happen
We lost one bad match today. One. We have a second leg against probably our biggest rival at home on Tuesday for a place in a final. We follow that with what will arguably be our biggest and most important match of the season. I get we are embarrassed, but it was ONE match. I've seen enough from us recently to know what we can do and will continue to do. If we come through next weekend having dropped 3 straight, then I'll be worried.
That is why we need to make sure we don't do an Arsenal, now the difference seems to be that today was like Chelsea B instead of our fullt XI so I have a lot less worry then if we were Arsenal.
This is a symptom I believe of trying to blood a whole reserve team at once rather than drop 3-4 players a time in the first team to get then time together. The natural talent saw us successful for 40 mins but the lack of any team cohesion (coupled with utter complacency) counted in the end. We should not be losing but it is a great reminder that football is first and foremost a team sport.
