  1. X X I

    X X I Red Card

I am not saying that Casey should not go for the ball. My point is that he missed the ball SEVERAL times. Actually, I doubt he got his head on ball any of the times he collided with the goalie. He was more worried about hitting the goalie than connecting with the cross (and there was no shortage of crosses to tell you the truth).

Um ok. American commentators are still by far the worst.

    That must be me.

If you FATBOY, think that the US played a clean, attractive game then you are delirious. Several US fans have admited that it was indeed an ugly game and they could have played much better.

The US is the dominant team in Latin America? Are you as stupid as your username? The most dominant team in Latin America is Brazil. Whoever says otherwise is a retard.

I've seen Casey twice and both times he has bummed rushed the goalie. He should of gotten a red for what he did Sanchez in the game against Mexico. Didn't see the game against Poland but I heard that he smashed into the goalie in that game as well.

I'm sure he meant to write North & Central America...in which case he would be completely correct.

I dont think fatboy understood what he wrote about the latin america thing.

and as far as the game, im sure the US didnt want to run up the score as they try to be a team of Class and respect.

I would have liked for the US to run up the score. Hey, the more goals the better. If the game would have ended up being 5-0, it would have been much more entertaining.

    That's ****************

This is WCQ, of course you try and run up the score.

    This isn't ********ing croquet, man.

Fact is, the US has always had a hard time beating a bunker for a ton of goals during a qualifier.

I also think they took their foot off the pedal to conserve some energy for Panama in three days. They definitely looked uninspired.

Also - CC has a very bad habit of running over keepers. He's got quite a few cards for Karlsruhe last year and has already run one goalkeeper this year for Mainz. I wouldn't play him in any away qualifiers as he is a definite candidate for a red card at some point

The US was ugly in one department only: finishing. Other than that, I thought it wasn't that bad. I'll tell you why, I still have old tapes of US Qualifiers from 98 and 2002. This team is more fit, and better at passing, and astonishingly younger.

    Howard-25
    Cherundolo-25
    Bocanegra-25
    Gibbs-25
    Convey-21
    Reyna (old)-31
    Zavagnin (old)-30
    Donovan-22
    Beasley-22
    Casey-23
    Ching-26

Those were the starters. I'm happy that the US won, but slightly disappointed with our sub-par finishing. If that's bad soccer, I'll take it.

Why all the fuss over CC's challenge and subsequent collision with the keeper?

It is very clear. It was a 50-50 ball and CC was playing for the ball and not an impact with the keeper. The replays have shown this and that is why the ref did not even issue a warning.

It was a fair and legal play. Period. I wish other players would play with that sort of focus and intensity.

For all of you who are complaing about CC's size and tendancy to pummel keepers..get over it. It occurs at every position throught out the game and it is fair play on the field and also in the box.
