Up 1-0 at the half this team needs to continue playing like this. I can't help but be angered that it took three games for these guys to finally play like a team. We should be up by more.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Australia also has the habit of starting off terribly and then playing good by the second or third game.

    Dammit 1-1 now.

What a ********ing golazo! 2-1. Come on guys close it out.

You've got to be kidding me. 2-2 all that work and we give it away like nothing.

Could have 7 points right now if the ref didn't give that phantom penalty for Haiti

Well, the guys pulled the result they needed. It certainly keeps us alive in this tournament. This is how we play Monday vs Mexico. I cried when they scored at the 90 :') lol I'll update the table after the last game today

Fixed your post. Such a shame we couldn't play like we did today against Honduras and Haiti. Our 2 draws were absolute flukes and we extremely lucky to draw against Honduras.

Aside from that, the team should be very proud of themselves today; they had a stellar performance. Sure they let Canada score the 2nd goal, but they were very resilient and kept pressuring the Canadian defense until they finally broke. If they play like this against Mexico or better then they could stand a chance, though they should exercise extreme caution. I feel like ES should play ultra-defensively, I don't care if we draw 0-0; the odds are in Mexico's favor obviously.

Mexico needs to defeat Honduras today, that's for sure.

Actually Honduras and CR always give us s tough time no matter what NT. The Haiti game will continue to loom over us here on out.

Yeah but talk about having a horseshoe up there bum. I mean the last time I remember us getting lucky breaks the way they did (the TnT game) was when during quals against Haiti back in 08?. They also benefit from facing a not so strong Jamaican side (remember we did dominate them in Veracruz) I will give them the US game though but I felt the US never plays to there potential in the youth sides but regardless they are the stronger side.

True, but u gotta give them credit for pulling through their games the way they did! Regardless, I would rather face them for the playoff game than the US or Panama

I had already factored in the Mexico loss before the game was played. We'll beat Haiti ezpz. The game that'll determine thangs is the Canada one.

Awesome stat of the night: This is our first victory ever against Canada U20. The last five encounters have ended in one draw and four losses.

    Mexico defeated Honduras 3-0.

One of the Mexican defenders received a red card, that should be a good thing for us.

    Haiti and Cuba drew 2-2.

For the next round, Cuba and Haiti should at least draw against Canada and Honduras respectively. Play ultra defensively if they must.

Mexico is officially through to the next round. Even if Mexico loses to ES they'll still be in 1st place, I'd hope that they'll rest their A team when they play ES. Regardless, ES should at least aim for a draw.

The last three games should be enough to expect Lozano wouldn't be given acres of space to exploit the poor left back. Who has never played against a Lozano type talent. (Best Mexican teenager since Barca Gio imo) So I'd expect EL Salvador to concede possession and bunker .

My question is , what is the height of your two Center Half's & do you guys have a target forward to relieve the pressure when in possession?

Tbh, while ES should bunker, I don't see Tuco succumbing to that. They will try to play Mexico toe to toe and will hopefully get a tie (though probably not).

We have Bryan Perez, so while not tall, he's very strong and has good hold up play at times. Will be a great game

Haven't been able to catch any other games besides Mexico's and the USA 's. (They don't televise them :( )
So I don't know if this is the same EL Salvador squad that Mexico played in that Veracruz tourney? Is it ?

Six players from Veracruz - three who were starters - are also playing this tournament. All are starters in this team.

We also have the same coach.
