According to a thread over on the Dallas board, Eddie Johnson, Eddie Gaven and Jonny Walker have all been released back to their clubs for the weekend. We're still thin, but not Kate Moss thin anymore.

    Walker

    Stammler - Parke - Arena - Leitch

    Clark - Regan

    Gaven - Brenes

    Taylor - Woly

Maybe SGR gets the start in midfield with Regan on the bench. And if Bonseu's here (there seems to be some confusion as to whether he's with Uganda or not) he obviously starts.

We're paper thin whereas KC is only missing Zavagnin - however, Zavagnin should be #2 in MVP ballotting if it were held right now, and they really don't have an effective backup. If should be a shootout, and we have a chance.

    My prediction is 2-2.

The Wizards are missing Meola, Conrad, Klein, Zavagnin, and Zotinca (susp.) Add to that Preki can only go 45 and simutenkov not fully fit, we're in as bad of shape as you, if not worse. That's five starters out and 2 not capable of a full match. You'll see plenty of scrubs fielded by both teams I suspect.

I wonder why. Maybe Bob gave Bruce a stern talking to?

I'm guessing it's more an indication of the likelihood of those three players actually seeing the field for the Nats in this game. Arena has Gaven and EJ there for experience. Walker is 3rd on the pecking list in goal. Why not let them get some real game experience with their club before continuing the camp?? I doubt Bob had anything to do with it.

i'm guessing Johnson and Gaven will see time against panama.

This is good news for us. I was wondering if we even had eleven guys to field....

    Walker

    Bonseu - Parke - Arena - Leitch

    -Clark-

    Regan - Gaven - Brenes

    Taylor - Woly

I'd guess we see either this (my preference) or possibly have SGR played in the center of the midfield with Gaven as a withdrawn forward and Woly or Taylor sitting the bench.

I was hoping Gaven would get in, but with this move, I'd be absolutely floored if Arena were even considering it. If we are just beating up on Panama (5, 6 goals up, which I just don't see happening) then maybe the kids go in, but if Arena had any plans for them, I really doubt he'd let them leave camp for an MLS game.

I'd like to see Taylor and Glen together again but it certainly isn't a bad lineup at all. Woly is a pain in defenders behinds.

Without Guevara this season, the Metros have looked about as organized as the U.S. Men's Olympic basketball team.

If Lisi wasn't always injured, at least you'd have one other guy who is a good play-maker. Time for Gaven to spearhead the attack, coming off of a bad game.

I also think we'll be seeing SGR in the midfield, but I don't know if that's good or bad. Although he's been a dissapointment so far, he's undeniably the best passer among all of the Metros forwards, so perhaps he might be an asset as a midfielder. Worth experimenting for at least a game with several guys out.

With Guevara and Pope out, I see KC winning 2-0.

Tim Reagan really sucks. I know 11 year old that can pass the ball better than him.

After we failed to score on that chance, I knew KC would come back on the counter and score. It seems like most of the goals our opponents have scored on us have been on the counter right after we have failed to score on a good chance.

How many hundreds of inane sound effects does the Arrowhead PA guy have at hand?

Oh yeah, and the game. We're sucking.

You don't want to know, trust me.

Amazing fact: Bo Oshiyini has been in this league since the beginning, and this is just his 26th start.

Weird fact: When I was in high school I went to a week-long goalie camp, where among the coaches were both Oshiyini and Des Mclennan.

Irrefutable fact: We're in free fall.

Regan summed up what we were missing at the halftime interview: "It's simple. We are missing Amado Guevara." Guevara has to be the MVP. We are trash without him and possibly the best team in the league with him.

Ised to think that as the league got on a better financial footing they would be able to afford better players and the quality of play will improve.

    I no longer believe that.

Its clear that unless we clean up the play in this league the game will always be hack games unless teams like the metros and sj are playing each other.

How are we going to develop skillful players with this type of environment.

Oh btw we sucked badly tonight.

We're down a goal. I can see why Bob was maybe too nervous about KC's counter to bring off Regan, move SGR to Amid, and bring in Taylor up top and go diamond as was suggested, but I don't agree with him. We needed a goal or 2. And Regan wasn't exactly great. Everyone else was a tiny step above him. Which isn;t saying much. Blech. Walker had a good game though.

If this is the teams' mindset, they may as well pack it now and save us the
aggrevation of the next six weeks.

I believe you. Seriously guys, did Seth Stammler run over Bradley's dog or something? I don't care who we're missing or how much playing time he's had all season long, start Stammler over Regan. It worked for us with Parke and look how well he's turned out, I don't see why it can't work for us again with Seth. Besides, I think we can all agree that anyone's better than Regan.
