If you can't do the time (and this includes - in the negative news spotlight 30 years later) then don't do the crime.
I think maybe 10 years ago he wasn't that stupid. I think now, after so many years of reciting the line, the persona and the actual person have probably merged. He's been playing the role so long that now that is him.
Jermaine Jones, he of 613 regular season minutes played, finished distant 2nd in Newcomer voting. Not sure how Steve Clark isn’t in Top 4.— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) December 3, 2014
Not that I really care about 2nd in the voting kind of stuff, but is Ives saying that Jones shouldn't be the #2 because he only played 613 minutes? C'mon, it's not like a guy played that amount over the whole season. He's been in the lineup every game he's been available, and the team's record after he joined speaks for itself. Without Jones we would be slumming in the Chicago-Philly-Houston neighborhood, or at best, sneaking into the playoffs before a quick exit.
FYI a patriots proshop person emailed me and said basically that they are almost sold out of all Revs merchandise.
Not surprised, seemed like the actual shop was jammed on Saturday. My family had something to do with that.
#NERevs Investor/Operator Jonathan Kraft will join @FelgerAndMazz on @985TheSportsHub this afternoon. Tune-in! pic.twitter.com/rKwwuOWdrB— New England Revolution (@NERevolution) December 4, 2014
Sorry, haters. Whether you like it or not, soccer has 'arrived'. #NERevs http://t.co/SMelbvvv3X— Michael Felger (@NBCSFelger) December 4, 2014 Saw this on twitter, but I have not seen it here.
Listen to @985TheSportsHub in one hour to hear from #NERevs Investor/Operator Jonathan Kraft. pic.twitter.com/PtjNTEd0Sx— New England Revolution (@NERevolution) December 4, 2014 Sorry for the second post on this topic, I could not edit my original post any longer. Anyway, looks like they will be on around 5PM.
I Meant Div 1-A......Harvard plays Ivy schools and they are not the big football schools. You are right, he is a moron and I don't know why his channel doesnt retire him?
Thought this Entrepreneur article was appropriate for those still feeling the sting of Sunday's loss. How to channel your inner [Ben Olsen] to relieve stress.
Usually it comes out if February. Last year (due to the World Cup?) it came out November 25: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...4-regular-season-schedule-two-week-break-worl Due to expansion, I would expect it to be later (Jan/Feb) for next season.
During MLS Cup they mentioned that Sunday at 5PM would be the game time on ESPN for the MLS Game of the Week in 2015. They also said something like MLS Game of the Week will be starting on Sunday March XX,2015 at 5PM. This article has some details, but no real dates. If anybody has a DVR recording of the game I am pretty sure you could hear the date they mentioned. Anyway, next year should be good for TV.
So every MLS out of market game is on ESPN3? Meaning I can actually watch every Revs game next season other than the ones in New York? Am I reading this correctly? Am I so pumped I don't realize that I'm typing like a valley girl?
Probably in late 1014. It'll feature Leif's squad versus AEthelred's as the opener, and Brian Boru will be coaching the Irish side.
Oh, we get to see the start of Henry's career. It'll be all the more satisfying knowing that we ended it.
I was so confused, I didn't see my error till now! Hahaha! On another note: I'm looking to ssubscribeto a soccer magazine. I'm looking for suggestions. Preferably one that covers world soccer, but also covers the MLS, USNT and American soccer in general. A quick google search gave me these names: World Soccer, FourFourTwo, Champions (put out by UEFA), Soccer America and When Saturday Comes. Any thoughts on any of these, any others out there that I should consider? I'm a little old school and enjoy print media.
French supremacy actually predates William the Conqueror, England was first conquered by Henry and King Wenger
This was a great article by Felger and the video was entertaining. I've always wanted someone to call out the Curly Haired Boyfriend on this matter. Never thought I'd actually see it, and I did, so it's great. But, I have to admit that I was really peeved at the CHB tweet after the finals. He timed it deliberately to kick us when we were down. I know people always say just ignore him, but I'm sorry, I'm hopping mad about this. I'm tired of ignoring him and his ilk of hoary sports scribes and personalities who still -unfortunately- hold some lasting hegemony over the sports landscape in this town and who actually do shape hearts and minds. I feel this has finally got to stop. As ridiculous and immature as it appears, it seems CHB wants to start a culture war with N.E. soccer fans. I now feel we need to mobilize. The reason I feel this way is because now the Rev's are on the radar he won't stop throwing darts from his print media perch. Maybe he feels this is a threat to his beloved and hoary baseball. I would love it if there were enough will from people like us, to start punking him -a la Howard Stern style- at every turn. Wouldn't it be fun and gratifying if we posted things on the comments or via Twitter to his articles? When he writes about the Sox, we could just go on there and troll things about the Rev's. I'm sorry, trolling is despicable but should it be considered as fighting fire with fire for this new sworn enemy? Or, could we show up at his public appearances with Rev's gear and scarves? I know people will say, just ignore... but I'm so mad I could punch him.
Very tempting to lower ourselves to his level but that would only support one of his prior slams about what jerks soccer fans are. I like Monty's take, let him keep yapping and slamming, it only shows him for what he is and gets publicity for the Revs and soccer.
Yeah, at the end of the day, I know you are right. I have to keep reminding myself that there is a soccer culture here; the Rev's are relevant and he -increasingly- is not. He doesn't get that yet, but you are probably right, he will eventually. Then he will slither away.
