RK, Gyasi and RR had an excellent game. Very impressed with RR as a LB and Gyasi as a winger. I hope JK gives him a chance in January.
I really thought RR had some nightmare moments defending the last 2-3 games for us. I guess I'm overly critical. I'm really not convinced he's an answer at LB. And, for a former attacking player, he crosses terribly and has shown very little composure in front of goal for LA in his two years with the team. I hope I'm wrong though.
Glad to see that Landon Donovan had a relatively obscure game. Why? Simple: if he had gone out there and set himself apart as the best player on the field, we'd constantly debate how he was retiring "too soon" and that he could still be an elite player if he were to come back. Make no mistake...he could have easily had an assist or two (or even a goal or two) had things gone differently and had a performance to be remembered. Instead, he can quietly call it a career before too many people get on him about sticking around "too long" (which they already do, despite his impressive numbers this season) and enjoy the fact that he was the most decorated player in league history. Hats off to LD, the Galaxy, the Revs and the league for another great season!
So is this the last real fun MLS season with non forcced franchises and a somewhat reasonable amount of playoff teams.
Sooo ... that makes 4 straight wins for the home team since they changed the rules for MLS Cup. Gotta love the unpredictability.
Looks remarkably like this sad Revs fan ... (Yes, that was also the stock "Sad DC United Fan" picture during the 2013 season.) Also, this ... ... because when am I ever going to have occasion to post that again?
Love this quote: (On Robbie Keane...) ARENA: I don’t know whose team it is, but it’s nice to have him on the team. Robbie is been unbelievable since he stepped foot in MLS. I’ve been on record, I’ve said this, it’s very rare that an international player can step into this league, be adjusted instantly and not explain to us how you are supposed to do things and how it’s done elsewhere. I’ve never heard one “this is how they do it at Liverpool or Tottenham.” He’s bought into Major League Soccer from the start. He’s our greatest advocate. It’s been fabulous. Look of what we’ve done since we’ve acquired Robbie. Is it his team? Naw, its Mr. Anchutz team to be honest, but he’s pretty big asset.
Meh. Whatever. Let's not forget that the Galaxy are 0-4 all-time in MLS finals against teams not named Dynamo or Revolution. 0-1 against San Jose No, I will not sit down and be quiet. The Niners lost to the ********in Raiders, the Galaxy won again, and there's no more Walking Dead. I need something positive out of this Sunday.
