As I've read elsewhere, others had no problems in 4/4a. So I guess that'll be the spot. How about congregating on the eastern most side of the lots, closest to the "S" of StubHub center?
When I get to El Pescador how will I know which group is the BigSoccer group? Will someone be holding a giant "Where will Babayaro play?" sign?
You mean there might be more than one middle-aged white guy wearing a Galaxy jersey inside the establishment....?
Between the tennis stadium and the soccer stadium is a concourse where a fan fest is usually held. There's a concession stand, something Grill or something, that's on the eastern part of this concourse. I propose for those meeting inside the stadium that we meet over by this concession stand, tennis stadium side. I'm thinking of having a t-shirt marked "BigSoccer" to identify for the inside-stadium meet-up. Same with the parking lot congregation but if I can't make it there, perhaps someone will have a banner or something marked "BigSoccer" or "DTLA stadium forum."
So wait--are we doing El Pescadito, Lot 4, the fan concourse...or all 3! I'm down to be an official sign-holder--just tell me where to go.
Standard procedure for Galaxy fans to hit El Pescador before a game. Not too sure about this game though, since it's pretty early.
You can do all 3 if you want. Some of us can only do 1 or 2 of those things but I gather the biggest meet-up will be Lot 4 or inside the stadium. If you or anyone else are just going to do Lot 4, could you have a makeshift banner of some sort? Suggestions listed above, LOL.
I'm in for the parking lot. 4b, closer to the road is the way to go. There's nobody there, and it's faster to get out once the game ends. I'll be looking for the fire Bruce arena banner.
From therahzee's post in P/I/P thread: "The league and its partners will host MLS Soccer Celebration starting at 8 a.m. at the NE and NW grasspads outside the stadium ending 20 minutes before kickoff." I don't think many of us are going there but going to Lot 4. If that's the case, then let's congregate at the eastern most side of 4B. @MPNumber9 and whoever else, that'd be rad if there is a makeshift banner that reads "Fire Arena."
Apologies for not making it, rok. I think I am the Galaxy fan meet-up in Cincinnati. PS - Robert the Bruce is asking where you are on Facebook! Check in! Your family misses you!
For sure. So for my part, I'll be getting to Lot 4b around 10am on Sunday. I'll have a banner/poster that reads "FIRE BRUCE!". I'll locate around the SE corner of the lot (lower-right corner on the map above)
@Dan Loney, sent you a PM. @MPNumber9: Wonderful! Hopefully they direct you to park in there. I just got off the phone with StubHub staff and they told me parking will be opening at 6AM, so if you or anyone else want to get there early to secure a spot, it's your call.
I didn't deny my existence. I just couldn't prove any existence outside my mind. Am I really typing this, or am I a butterfly dreaming of typing this *16-ton weight dropped on head*
I'm really starting to freak out over the parking situation. I have no choice - my flight arrives at 10am. I guess my worst case scenario is parking 1 mile away and walking 20 minutes, which isn't too awful. Now I'm glad I asked rok and TrickHog where to park last time. Praying my flight leaves SFO on time. Will be sweating bullets on Sunday.
Here what I'd do. Get the rental car and buy the extra coverage. Drive up to as close to the stadium as you can get while keeping up your speed. Total the car. You'll have a short walk to the stadium. Go in, watch the match. At halftime, call the rental car agency and tell them they need to come pick their car up off Victoria Blvd. They'll show up around 30 minutes after the match ends, enough time to watch us win the title, get the trophy, and take their laps. Meet them outside and they'll take you back to the rental agency as well. Head back to the terminal and get on your flight.
