Yeah looks like the right team to me. With Amalfitano, Tomkins, who knows maybe even Carroll on the bench, we have good backup should things not go to plan. Would love to see Sakho get 7 in 7, hope he is fit enough to start. Also want to bury the curse of Manager of the Month, so let's do this! 3-0 will do nicely.

    From the beeb
West Ham XI: Adrian, Reid, Cresswell, Kouyate, Downing, Sakho, Noble, Jenkinson, Collins, Song, Valencia.

    No Tomkins
    No surprise, unfortunately.

Efan Okokoh (Sp?) thinks Villa will get a point. The curse of Lawro may be lifted!

On the other hand, if we don't score soon I might revert to the customary pessimism:rolleyes:

Should have scored. Same in the second half and we should come out with a win.

    • Joe Cole's half-time team talk
      Posted at

With no goals at all to discuss, the eight Premier League managers in action could do worse than spread the preachings of Joe Cole at half-time.

The former England schemer - not at Aston Villa - believes the game is overly complicated at times.

"You get a lot of people coming into the game - sport psychologists, etc - but, at the end of the day, it's a round ball," Cole said. "That won't change.

"You get all this other stuff which can help one or two per cent, but don't forget what it is to play football.

"A manager once said to me: 'If you want to be good at playing the piano, you don't run round it or pick it up, you play it.' That's stuck with me."

No this is the one where the out-played team snatch a goal in the 89th minute

Joe Cole warming up (on his birthday) alongside Nolan.
Nolan for Kouyate? I would have brought on Amafitano
