Is this actually that hard for PUMA to do? do they just treat a blank evoPower with the EvoSpeed colourway?
Honestly I'd say the LZ (second gen) or the NC is a better boot over all. The Instinct has some good things about it, but they just aren't a progressive evolution of the concept because of the internal aspects of the shoe. It is a very slippery on the insole and the heel, despite a very snug fit on the upper, the heel slips against most socks that I have used in them. I still haven't bought some TruSox, mostly because I can't bring myself to support their owner, but these might be the perfect boot for the conceptual design of the sock. It SuperNatural colorway does look fantastic on TV, but I think it is a little nostalgia for the slime adiPower at play in my mind, too.
I haven't personally experienced any heel slipping with my instincts. Nor do I mind the insole, I actually prefer whatever material adidas is using on their insoles because with Nike's old sticky kinda rubber like insoles my socks used to get stuck and bunched up and it would make my feet really uncomfortable.
Ah right ok, that's interesting to note. It pains me that nitrocharge looks like it'll be written off. I've been wearing it over my F50 in recent weeks. Re: Trusox. Ive got a cushioned pair I find fit well with f50 and Lightweight insoles but NC and the thicker insole is a bit more snug. Just got some Nike Stadium Crew so they might fit better
I had lots of slippage in my Instincts unfortunately, up to the point where I bought myself a new pair of boots. I went with the Nike Tiempos. I love how they fit. Snug in the forefoot and most importantly, the high heel cut. I'm really missing the three stripes though. Is there any Adidas boot with a similar fit to the Tiempos?
I put the older F50 Comfort insole in the Instinct......it's like a totally different boot. Foot and heel slip solved (both insoles are lipped, but the F50 provides grip, not slip).
Marcelo has very small feet. Good to see the Crazylight endorsement lasted long too. James has moved on to those adizeros.
It baffles me that a leather version doesn't get released to the generic public for some boots in the top end model. If the professionals prefer it, surely it shows that no matter how much you develop synthetics, leather is best for that comfort/touch feel?
Profit margins.....it's better for the company bottom line to make a boot for $3.00 and sell it wholesale for $100.00-$150.00/retail $200.00+ than for $15.00. These figures aren't exact, mind you, but you get the idea.
So sad..... I miss leather boots. If Adidas could release a 'kangaroo' leather boot, lightweight outsole with a traditional look, tongue/no tongue (doesn't matter much), keep it around 8-9Ozs, riveted, the heel cup up to the designers but with a suede liner, I'd easily drop 200-230 for them. Edit: I used to be SUCH a big adidas guy, but once the Predator started changing so drastically....I stopped buying into their boots. It was copas or nothing. I went to the darkside, Nike to a certain point because of it's clean design with the Vapors (I-IV) but after that I stopped wearing them because of the pain I used to get with the bad design in the heel. I've moved on since to Mizuno and never looked back. Sadly, I think I am a dying breed with the new kids not even knowing what a quality boot feels like, and thinking these weird fitting synthetics/boots that last a season is the norm.... :shakeshead:
I think Adidas are probably least prone to releasing leather models now compared to when they used to have the leather predators Nike have the tiempos and the vapor IX had the "leather look" version Puma prone to a limited release too with leather models Maybe we all pray that one day they might care a tad less about profit and deliver a more "desirable boot"
