    Hey Legions,

As I am watching Chelsea hosting the hapless Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge on NBCSN in the Barclays Premier League (they play REAL football not that American crap!), I just wanted to remind all of you fans that I'll be playing at the Middletown Dreams: Port Townsend's Pinbar at approximately 7:00pm tonight and I hope to see you there to cheer me on, however, I've gotta forewarn ya guys (and gals) that I (somehow) might have shot my wallet off during last night's performance at Coog's Budget Cds, so please forgive me if I don't sound too good tonight, but, at least, I put it all out there FOR REAL with absolutely NO AUTO-TUNING and NO LIP-SYNCHING in every performance I do.

At least I perform REAL music not like Maroon 5 does with that stupid "Animals" crap they "play", speaking of which, after I find a good quality instrumental/karaoke version on YouTube of it, I just might write a parody of it, but more about the Arsenal Football Club, who are beating the just as hapless Burnley 2-0 late in our match over at the Emirates Stadium in North London. The name of my "Animals" cover would be called "Arsenal" and will feature lyrics all about the Gunners and my fandom of the 13-time Champions of England and defending The FA Cup holders.

    Shocked, I see. :)

Don't worry, I promise that it'll come out good, It's just another way of me being more musically constructive rather than just sitting the house around doing nothing, I'm always looking to put out new material for my fans.

BTW, it'll be more of a rap track with the only singing part being the chorus, all the lyrics will be about Arsenal and their (recent) history (1990s on including The Invincibles and all the way to today) and I even intend to use audio excerpts from epic matches from years past featuring Martin Tyler and Andy Gray among others contributing to it.

I promise that it'll not only be good, but also, unlike all my other material, radio-friendly, I DARE the powers that be at Clear Channel to sneak THIS onto their playlists on their array of radio stations!!! It probably won't see any commercial radio, maybe at the public/college level radio, but not much else otherwise, but a good effort it will be.

BTW, I've already stream-recorded the official instrumental version of "Animals" from Maroon 5 off of a video on YouTube, using one of mySony MiniDisc Walkman recorders, and have come up with lyrics for the chorus for "Arsenal", so check this shit out:

BTW: this is supposed to be a radio-friendly project, in which may look out of character for me, but, it's also a first:

    CHORUS:

We play a full 90 minutes, win, lose, or tie
we wear the Red and White, because we're Gooners 'til we die
We are the Arsenal, Arsenal from Highbury (singing line)
You might think we're on some kinda trip
we'll never get relegated to the Championship
we are the Arsenal, Arsenal from Highbury (singing line)

Well, I got a prototype of what the first verse (all rapped out of course) of my version on "Animals" from Maroon 5 in which I renamed "Arsenal" is gonna be like, I hope the structure is correct, I had to replay both the vocal and instrumental mixes of it to see if it is structurally correct, and indeed it was, so here it is:

    (instrumental in the first part)

    1st Verse:

We dare United try to bust a move on
Now Arsene Wenger’s gonna getcha groove on
With the Gunners’ in the house they’re gonna git ‘er done
just like Charlie George did back in ‘71

We won the League twice at White Hart Lane
so if you’re rootin’ for Tottenham, then you must be insane
now Thierry Henry’s being worshipped as a hero
cuz’ he scored the hat trick down at the San Siro

So if you’re rootin’ for Chelsea, then I wonder “What’s Up?”
cuz’ we’re gonna win the title and the FA Cup
and even make an impression in the Champions League
so see ya later “Fat Frank”, you look a bit fatigued

Now the ’04 season, was so simple
to give it one word, It’s called “Invincible”
    Bergkamp, Freddie, Henry and Kanu
don’t forget “Mad Jens” and Vieira too

    It's finished!!!

I FINALLY finished writing of the lyrics for my new song, which basically put to the instrumental mix of "Animals" from Maroon 5 called "Arsenal", I hope you dig it, I will start recording it later on this month on my Korg D-3200 32-track recorder both around my work schedule and also after I get my voice back to 100%, I hope you like the lyrics, I tried to keep them both FCC and radio-friendly so I can get noticed:

    ARSENAL (4 My Fellow Gooners)

    1st Verse:

We dare United try to bust a move on
Now Arsene Wenger’s gonna getcha groove on
With the Gunners’ in the house they’re gonna get it done
just like Charlie George did back in ‘71

    2nd Verse:

So like Danny Graft said: “Don’t doubt the benefit!!!”
The world’s throwing stones…. We’ve got The Emirates!!!
60,000 strong every match we play
Nothing less than 3 points would ever make my day

And with guns like Olivier Giroud
Alexis Sanchez, you know the future looks good
Don’t forget Mesut Özil and Podolski too
With The Ox and Rosicky comin’ after you

Aaron Ramsey… is ready off the bench
And Santi Cazorla is diggin’ up a trench
And have no fear ‘cuz Theo Walcott’s in da house
He’ll make a keeper look scared like a dumb ass mouse

We’re the reason why it’s called “The Beautiful Game”
but every once in a while it gets a little insane
over 30 million Gooners could not be wrong
So now The Gunner Nation knows it’s why I wrote this song

    (repeat Chorus 2x)

    (break)

    (repeat Chorus 2x)

(Contains elements of various clips from the FA Premier League
and also of “Animals” as performed by Maroon 5)

I just need to steal some audio clips of Jon Champion, John Motson, and Clive Tyldesley, along with the once-dynamic duo of Martin Tyler and Andy Gray among others (don't worry fellow Gooners, I'm NOT gonna use any of Gus Johnson's or Eric Wynalda's work, that would be blasphemous for all footy fans worldwide) and then edit the footage to make it sound like they're all Arsenal homers, and I KNOW one specific sample from Andy Gray from the Champions League in 04-05 (against Olympiakos, yes, THAT call!!!) I'll be using that will ire many Liverpool fans (and specifically fanboys of LFC captain Steven Gerrard), but screw it, I intend to use it in the break on "Arsenal" amongst other clips. I'll be working on that later on this evening as well as tomorrow (I only work on Wednesdays and Fridays unless otherwise called in to fill in for a co-worker who will be out)

As for the music itself, I already have the instrumental of "Animals" down on MiniDisc and will be ready to transfer it to my Korg D-3200 multi-track recorder and a rough version of it (good enough for the underground) will be finished over the weekend, and while I can't sing a note to save my life, at least I will NOT be using any of that crap auto-tune on it, to maintain the integrity of the recording with regards on the intended audience.

Have you thought about using helium to record the vocal parts?

Well dude, nice idea, but I might come through sounding like either Alvin or either of the other chipmunks, and THAT wouldn't sound right would it?

Here is ONE guy who when it comes to my vocals recommends staying in the Studio until I NAIL IT, I highly recommend you guys watch, I'm definitely NOT shooting for airplay on KISS-FM or any other Clear Channel (or any other) radio station for that matter, THAT would be too much for me.
