Losing a game we should have won doesn't bother me, I've been putting up with that for almost two decades. The only thing that makes me sad is that this is the last time we'll see Thierry Henry play, at least in MLS and maybe ever.
I hate Maryland. I will laugh when they are a perennial power in most major sports in that conference.
Twellman kept saying that, but it's nonsense. Midfielders always have to assume there is pressure. Alexander just misplayed the ball horribly, getting just enough of a touch to give it right to a KC player.
Henry did force that pass though. He forced another bad one earlier that was broken up and then Dax got to it and earned a foul. He's a great player, but he is far from perfect.
Agreed, Henry's been a pleasure to watch this whole time. Call me crazy, but maybe it's time to have somebody else play wide so Henry can get on the end of a cross? I know that's his preferred space on the field, but if I'm KC, I'm fairly content to have Henry send off-foot crosses in the area (particularly with the finishing on display tonight).
Just to remind everyone: in the nine seasons that Red Bull has owned this team, they have made the playoffs eight times. To this day, they have never won a home playoff game.
I won't argue that it was a great pass, but no one at this level should make the awful touch Alexander made.
"Colorado Rapids sue Ciao Telecom over missed sponsorship payments" I wonder if that have anything to do with Rapids lately form..
For whatever reason the pending end of Henry's career in this rather inept display reminds me of this scene from The Matrix:
There should be a cup competition just for the original MLS teams. Whichever one goes the furthest in the playoffs wins. Call it The Mutiny Cup in honor of the one fallen member of the original 10.
