AMAZING SECOND HALF! No idea what Ancelotti told them but it f*cking worked. Everything was just perfect when defending and when attacking. Pepe and Ramos woke up, Isco and James stepped up, Benzema was fantastic, Ronaldo unselfish, just perfect. I give it a 9.8 out of 10, if it weren't for that final ball we would blast them all, but merit to their defense on that. Still, just beautiful! No fouls from Pepe or Ramos, 15 interceptions from Pepe, 5 from Ramos! BRILLIANT! LOVE YOU ALL, LOVE YOU TEAM, LOVE YOU ANCELOTTI, LOVE YOU REAL MADRID!!!
Okay but what does that have to do with what I said? Being the "best" player, on either team, after that up and down first half isn't really saying a lot. And he was pretty invisible that entire first half and just a complete waste of space in the second.
Folks we have been redeemed. Ever since we were thoroughly outplayed in the 6-2 game we were owed this. They were nothing compared to us, we have a by far better midfield (never thought I would say this) and today we schooled them. We went from a team who couldn't cope with their pressing to one skipping past their players laughing their way to goal. Tldr what a fuc*king game maaan.
Enrique got his lineup wrong, Alba and Rakitic should have started and arguably Pique should have been benched. That said the lack rest between fixtures this week and missing players due to injury helped them. The official did well enough, some questionable calls on both sides but he didn't decide this game.
The pitch at the Bernabeu looked more like a carving board today- Real Madrid was just slicing past that poor Barca defense!
The major difference today then last year's games: A player (Kroos) capable of playing a precise ball out of pressure. Modric was freed from being the focal point of building out of the back, and it showed.
I think you are on to something here.. We are playing so much better because Kross and Modric are now settled in the midfield and they are controlling it.
Almost feel sorry for the cules; they were so happy to see the back of Di Maria here is James for his Clasico debut and gets an assist. Never ending.
You quoted me dude, I'm not bashing I'm trying to understand what you're getting at here but I think I got my answer.
Fcuk you all you doubters -who questioned Carlo, James , Isco etc. Fcuk me for crying after Ozil and Di Maria sale, I was moron not to trust Carlo ad his vision. Hala Madrid.
I actually thought Carvajal was MOTM. The guy was a beast. Learnt from his first Classico and getting better.
Hard to over state the importance of that first pass under pressure from them. I've said numerous times, its the key to breaking them down. They swarm but if you can lay off a calculated pass things are as open as Kardashian on vicodin.
********, and I wanted Pepe to be sold 2 summers ago LOOOOOL. And, Kroos is BIIIIIIG for us. He changed the way we approach the clasico.
What a game. I only wish we used those counter attack chances in the last part of the game. Could have been 5-1 ez.
