Oh, I'd like to give him a tribute alright… http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2012/09/21/thierry-henry-kei-kamara-incident I only wish Roger was back to help him out with a proper "tribute".
He already has a statue at Arsenal. Love him as a competitor but I would love to send the Red Bulls back to that swamp with a loss.
Well with Gruenebaum hurt we don't have much in the way of options, I don't think Vermes is going to throw Kempin in there at this point.
If Columbus beats Philly, then we draw NY, then we beat NY in the WC game, we could personally witness the very last game of Henry's career. Not that that's what I'm rooting for, just throwing it out there for a possibility.
If you mean this would be our point total at the end of the year, I can understand that. However, I did not at all expect this team to completely fall apart in the second half. I didn't have visions of the SS knowing that we had injuries and schedule congestion. But going into the final weekend staring down the need for a win to avoid the WC game and at least a draw to avoid that game on the road...that was not expected. For me, losing in the WC or the first round would be something of a disappointment. Part of that is my own inflated expectations. Perhaps most of it. On a related note, we had a game last Friday and then on Sunday. Why is the CCL game on Thursday rather than say, Tuesday? That competition continues to just bother me.
NY has to play as well in a fairly meaningless match that only impacts seeding for Montreal. Not a good thing for us that NY gets an extra day to recover but at least we're playing at home so it's only one round trip. But I doubt Petke will play many guys against Montreal that we will see on Sunday night.
Yeah, definitely agree with all of that. I certainly get where you are coming from. I guess I'm okay with saying that we had a comparably awful season plagued with injuries and still made the playoffs. I view any progress in the playoffs as "exceeding expectations" at this point.
Yeah, NY's CCL game is going to be a reserve game. They'd throw the trainers out there if they could get away with it. It's going to have minimal impact on our game Sunday. SKC, on the other hand, will have to pull out all the stops to get a result in Costa Rica. For all intents and purposes, NY has the week off.
I'm assuming everyone knows the Royals score. If not, stop reading. Apparently the [Result] tag doesn't work any more. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . This game will now go head to head with game 5.
yep, unless they've already sold all the tix ahead of time, this will likely end our sellout streak. too bad it's on espn2, or i could bring up the issue of moving the game again.
As if we weren't missing enough defenders, Juliao has been suspended by the DisCo for his kick to Wenger.
Yup. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...pends-luis-garrido-dwayne-de-rosario-and-igor- What about the BS that Philly pulled in that one GIF that someone posted here. So I guess Peterson starts in his spot. Not a terrible plan and I can't say that we will be worse off.
So...... Win: Avoid the Wild Card game. Lose: Impossible to avoid the Wild Card game. All other outcomes hang on just how much of a damn Philly gives against Columbus. Lovely. At least we'll know what is needed at kickoff.
If Besler can go, we can run Sinovic-Besler-Collin-Ellis. If not, I guess Ellis is in the middle and Peterson drops back. Either way, our only defensive sub options are Olum, Peterson and Zizzo.
