Couldn't have said it better myself Ed. Imagine how many tickets would have been sold if there were an actual authentic grassroots fan base and the team didn't play in Yankee Stadium. What will the BS know-it-alls piss and moan about now?
Is that a possible glimpse of the Founding Member scarf in the picture or is that an already released general scarf?
Great news. With how little we were hearing about season ticket sales I was worried the numbers were embarrassingly low. I would expect around 15k by kick off. Maybe even more depending on DP3
NYCFC breaks 10,000 season-ticket barrier months before MLS debut season http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/th...rt-inaugural-2015-season-blog-entry-1.1974510 NYCFC season ticket number at 10,000 and growing http://www.empireofsoccer.com/ticket-number-growing-29446/
Read on another forum that before the event today Pernetti told the media that they've passed 11,000 now.
Over 12,000 : http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...14-mls-season.html+&cd=22&hl=it&ct=clnk&gl=it To correct the title, please.
I have doing some simple calculations about the number of the season tickets that are for sale for the NYCFC fans. For my calculations they are exactly 24,414 on the 27,470 seats of the YS capacity for the most games of our team. Indeed is it necessary to eliminate the capacity of the sections 201 ( 691 seats ), 202 ( 798 seats ), 203 ( 480 seats ), 203 W ( 22 seats ) and 204 ( 242 seats ) because they are SINGLE MATCH ONLY SECTIONS ( 2,233 total seats ). Therefore is it necessary to eliminate also the capacity of the sections 223 ( 443 seats ) and 224 ( 380 seats ) because they are AWAY SUPPORTERS SECTIONS ( 823 total seats ) . 27,470 - 3056 ( 2,233+823 ) = 24,414 Now if we go on the NYCFC site in the section of the season tickets available will be it possible to know the number of the season tickets sold day to day !!!
I have counted 8,127 season tickets available. Therefore if I am right the season tickets sold are 16,287 !!!!
I think that over 16,000 is the correct number and that when Garber has said almost 20,000 some day ago, he wasn't a long way off from real figure.
It is good that NYCFC can keep up with Atlanta. Atlanta had 14k season ticket deposits in Sep (2.5 years before kickoff). Keep up the good work. In all seriousness if 16k is accurate those are good numbers.
A deposit is different than an actual sale. Let's see what happens when it comes time to pony up on those deposits.
I realize this (that is why I used the word deposit), but everything I have ever read shows that deposits are very close to a 100% indicator of what the actual sales will be and they also have more than 2 freaking years before they kickoff. Some people that made deposits won't buy in the end and others will buy more. It usually equals out. I think it safe to say Atlanta will have way more than 14k season ticket holders. They will most likely at least hit 20k in the end.
Nearing 12,000 http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/teams/nycfc2.php?article_id=39699 "Pernetti also was encouraged by season tickets, saying that the last time he checked the club was nearing 12,000."
