The problem is, it probably hasn't. Take a look at the strikers that we currently produce: Bost, Weghorst and the name goes on. And I really don't want to see van Dijk for BMI, if that will happen. What will change? A mediocre defender for another. Both can't pass and both are slow as shit.

Look at that gap in midfield. All to keep RvP on. What a coward Hiddink is.

If we play the crossing game, then select Ola John. He at least has a good cross.

Kongolo for BMI would be fine. Not that Kongolo is a world class defender, but atleast he can pass and he is the reason why van Beek looked solid. de Vrij-Kongolo, while not the best players in the world, would be better than BMI and de Vrij. Oh and Clasie for de Jong, but that has been said before(but can't be said enough as Hiddink really is a coward).

Not even a draw the way we played. Blind is terrible. No cohesion in attack. Where is our issue? Was it Hiddink's preparations? Did we lose confidence? The first touch, the pass, nothing .

The team should improve quite a bit if we add in some footballers like Clasie Veltman and Strootman down the center.

Agreed. But will that happen with Hiddink, and for that matter(maybe even sooner than we think) Blind?

That shot from Robben is off all the time lately. Also for club.

Can someone tell me the thinking behind subbing out Sneijder for Huntelaar?

Hiddink could have taken off RvP, or Lens, but he took out the one guy we needed to make a quality pass.

    Truly puzzling.

The only thing I can say is that this was like watching a bad Ajax match. Clueless from everyone and two weak goals conceded. Team deserved to lose and Hiddink really should step down.

I'd be on board with Hiddink stepping down, but that would mean Danny Blind likely gets the job.

Would he be any better? I doubt it. And it would mean Daley Blind would be featured in every game. That's not something I would be able to stomach.

I can't... He took off control of the midfield and hoped for the long ball to drop on a stray head. I'm beginning to believe Hiddink 's tactical decisions are of a bygone age.

Seriously in this shape we could lose against any half decent footballing nation. If Turkey get their act together, we might not even qualify. Really, even a third place isn't a given with Turkey and Latvia

Sneijder was not good either. What has Sneijder done this qualification so far?

I feel sorry for the 350 fans that traveled all the way to Iceland, though it is a beautiful country.

Next game is a friendly vs Mexico on Nov.11, then a qualifier against Latvia at home. *IF* Guus were to leave, game-wise now would not be a bad time.

Well he had some interceptions high up the field against KZ and some good (but ultimately failing) through balls tonight. More than Blind (one cross).
