Good article, he's definitely one of those players where the stats don't tell the whole story of his importance to the team. That being said, his stats are extremely impressive. If I had to pick a Chelsea player of the year for the 2014 calendar year he'd definitely be towards the top of the list.

Cesc Fabregas has the same number of goal assists as the whole Arsenal squad this season.

Just gonna leave that here

Great game, but I gotta say, am a little annoyed with Fabregas never mentioning the name "Chelsea". He always refers to us as "this team".

I just saw the stats from sky sports, arsenal had 10 shots, none of which were on target and 8 were outside the box. We only had 5 shots, but 3 on target and only 2 shots from outside the box.

A really well controlled game from us, I was a little nervous before this game, especially with results going the way of all our rivals, and Arsenal were also more cautious. Had a draw written all over it, for us not only to be controlled and defensively solid but coming away with all 3 points is really, really....umm....good. My vocab has abandoned me, but I am pleasantly surprised each week by how this team is developing.

I chortled when Jose referred to us as being a little horse, but I, and all the other rivals can't deny that this horse is finally up and running.

Having said all that, feck the international break!

Missed the game but saw the highlights. Good to hear that Oscar played well.

Hazard's penalty taking style continues to amaze me. Are there other players who take them without looking at the ball? Cantona comes to mind, but it's tough to tell from the older clips whether or not he glances down as he hits it.

Cant say I am shocking/suprised but I expected to see a story at the top of the Beeb this morning with Wenger being punished at least in some capacity for his actions and there isnt one. There is a story though that he isnt sorry about said actions and there is still no sanction. What a joke of an association.

Perhaps my blue tinted glasses are on, but I feel that if it was Jose who did the pushing, there'd be a touchline ban and fine.

Not surprising. Although, It wasn't that big of a thing. Jose didn't make much out of it. Better to leave it alone I guess. My feeling is that Wenger isn't going to be in the EPL come next season. I have a feeling they'll tank it a bit more this season than last. One can hope, I guess.

Very true, but that's the world we live in. I think Jose's a lot more clinical and pre-meditated in his bust ups. Wenger just lost his sh1t, as he does. The nice thing about Jose being Jose, is that we haven't heard one word about our players in the press. I love that Jose serves as the lightning rod for the team.

There was one thing that would have made the win sweeter...A Drogba sub goal.

I love the continuing reaction on le arse's board after this game.

"We ran them close", "If we had everyone fit", "Moaninho is an asshat", "Why don't we just spend"

I don't know how long most of those posters have been arse fans, but I've been following Chelsea since the 90s and watching the likes of Vieira, Henry, Pires, Kanu, Bergkamp tear us apart with clinical ease during those years was an absolute pain. So much so, that it became numb after a while.

This must be what it feels like to be an arse fan now watching any game against us....just numb, the feeling of the inevitable.

I like it, I like it a lot.

I got to say that considering the Club could have made a big deal out of the Sanchez and Wenger's situation, we're not pursuing further actions.
And I'm also pleasantly surprised that Jose had such a cool response to the questions surrounding Wenger's shove. He made it sound like it's a normal thing, didn't say anything bad about Wenger and just let the issue go away. Very classy on his part.

i agree. thought we could have made an issue out of things. glad the club didn't. though it was probably just as calculated as anything else really. makes wenger look worse with jose being mostly quiet. the punch from sanchez by letter of the law should be a review incident. but it was really kind of a nothing lash out. just frustrating setting in which is understandable. the cahill challenge wasn't a great one by any means, don't think it was malicious, but he caught him pretty good.
