Brilliant. Mata with the assist, Di Maria finishes calmly. Good quick play there. Nice work earlier from Blind in being patient and finding Rafa who put in a testing cross. Good runs by both RvP and Falcao.

 

I think martinez wanted someone to press Blind at the start of the game, but we basically bypassed Blind and attacked with Di Maria. Now he's asked Naismith to drop deeper, and Blind can do whatever he wants with no pressure.

 

Even at 60 million he's a bargain.

We need to get Falcao further forward.

 

To be fair to Blind there when Rafael lost the ball he quickly closed the easy pass to the space created out wide and then got back in time to clear the ball in the box. More of the same please.
