No, appropriate for our lack of scoring.

The TWC lack of actual progress on Insight is why I reupped with Uverse today for another year. Tunnelbear and MLS live are getting the job done for me this season... and we will see what shakes out over the off season. Worse comes to worse, I can go to 4th Street. Or Hendocs. But I am not gonna switch cable companies and pay more just to have Crew games in SD. MLS Live, and whatever replaces it next year via ESPN, is in HD.

DirecTV guide lists Chivas USA at Columbus Crew on Univision Deportes today, but MLS website lists it on UniMas. I get UDN. I do not get UM. Could this be? Potentially, just the third Crew game I've seen live, and just the second available to me (an MLS Direct Kick pay subscriber) on DirecTV in Columbus all season.

They will replace it? Last I heard, that was a "maybe."

    Honest question here:

What "pay packages" such as those for the NHL, NBA, etc. allow for viewing of in-market games? A better reason for you not to watch games is your two kids. I don't know how anyone with two young kids could be able to commit to more than a couple home games. Attendance has been fantastic this year at home games, with a few exceptions at the start of the year, the re-scheduled game and this last game, both of which have been Sunday afternoons, FWIW. A lot of people who don't have TW have figured out how to watch away games.

None of the other online services allow in market games.

The difference (outside of the NFL) is that the reason for that is that those games are typically on channels that a large majority of the market has on their cable. The Reds and Indians are available to nearly every cable/satelite subscriber in Ohio, so are the Cavs and Blue Jackets.

NFL is the only league that uses home attendance as a reason for blackouts in local markets.

You are right that other packages don't allow in-market games. I should have clarified...my point in mentioning that I am a long-time DK subscriber was meant to show that while I am not willing to switch to TWC to get the Crew games, I am willing to spend extra money on soccer TV, even if it is for Crew games. But, unfortunately, this deal sucks so bad that it's not even an option to pay a fee to watch The Crew on other cable providers.

I have been having trouble with the Tunnelbear + MLS Direct route recently.
It worked in the beginning of the year, and then it stopped a couple of away games ago.
I stream thru a Roku unit and heard that they changed something so that it finds your location in a different way which VPNs do not affect.
Anyone else have such an issue?

Will find out shortly. I use a paid service and chromecast via my phone and have had no issues to this point.

What do you mean. Some of us keep being told what awful fans we are for complaining about the tv deal because tunnel bear is so easy a caveman could do it.

I didn't even have to use TB last night. I just turned the game on and it worked on MLS Live. I live in Grove City.

For the millionth time, it's not that those fans are awful. It's that the tv deal is what it is. It's not changing, so you can either not watch games, or you can. You can

    1) Go to bar/restaurant/whatever that is showing the game
    2) Go to friend's house
    3) Use TB and MLS Live

If you feel that the $65 or $70 price tag (whatever it is) for MLS Live is too much, fair enough. I would point out thought that it's equivalent to one month's cable bill, if that. On top of watching any game live (when combined with TB, $5 a month) the 20 minute condensed highlights are fantastic.

Is this ideal? No, not at all. But it is what it is. You have options.

For me, I don't have cable anyway. My wife and I watch ALL the shows we use to though when we had it though. ALL of them. Yeah, it might be a day or two later, but with DVRs, does anyone watch 100% of their TV live anymore?

If you wanna get into how this affects casual fans, that's different. The stadium attendance figures seem pretty identical to last season though, so I don't think it's had any impact at all. When I go to games, I still see loads of casual fans who don't even watch the game, they just sit around and talk and only look up when the crowd goes ooohhhh or aaahh.

I'm watching the USOC final on GolTV. A relative in Philadelphia is watching the game on local OTA TV. (No idea what the announcer situation is, as I normally don't get GolTV.)

I feel like I already mentioned something about how we couldn't/wouldn't/whatever put our USOC games on TWCSN. GolTV has the rights to the final this year, but they're up after this year. Since the local TV channel in Philadelphia has this game, you'd *think* TWCSN would have been an option for our USOC games.

Not that it matters much, but if you funnel some of the crowd onto a TV channel, it might mean fewer issues when everyone else logs on to the video stream.

Let's make it happen next year, Mr. Precourt...if at all legally possible, within the rules of the US Open Cup, US Soccer, etc.

Just wondering anybody else not able to watch the games on MLSLive after all other games at the same time are archived? I can watch the game on my IPad but not my computer or Roku?

It's still mind boggling that they'd deny the casual fan the chance to even WATCH an away game or two and get hooked and want more.

    OTOH...attendance is up, so...

Thinking of maybe watching the NE game at a bar rather than home. More festive!

Besides 4th Street and Hendocs, where else can you watch the game?

Ideally, we're looking for a place where we can sit and has decent food. And a great beer list!

I remember the good old days when you could go about anywhere.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using to watch all shows?
I'm wanting to disconnect the cable myself (don't have a problem with Crew games, since I live in Denver now, but still), and am starting to look at all of the options (Roku, Chromecast, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, friends/siblings' PW for ESPN/NBCSN/FS1/HBO through Comcast, etc)
