the average is misleading. they had a 34k double header with a couple of euro teams included in that number. take that game out, and they're more like 6k average. still a good number, but not as impressive.
Yep, in that small sample, the 34k announced crowd for the doubleheader skews things quite a bit. They're at 6,209 for the fall without that match, which is good. Really good when you consider how far they have come.
I was really pleased. It was a good crowd and perfect weather. And there were 54,408 in attendance a few miles away at the overlapping NC State football game.
Care to look at facts? Two out of their last five games have been 4,800 or above. They have four sellouts this year. Running at 84 percent capacity. They do have some increased volatility in their attendance compared to last year. That I will grant you, but that is completely different than a downward trend.
They're down 20% from spring to fall. And three of the last four have been <4000, with the last two being just over 3000. That's all he meant. They do seem to have dropped lately.
I've been to most of the games this season. Yes, the trend is downward. 3,000 for last night's game was very generous. Being at the bottom again really is a downward draw when there are so many other things to do in the city on a fall Saturday night.
Since when do soccer fans intellectually accept anything? Also, here's overall, spring and fall numbers.
Three concecutive Wednesdays with NASL games starting tonight with Ottawa Fury FC at home to the Atlanta Silverbacks at TD Place. Expect smaller crowds for these games, NASL has good scheduling overall with few midweek games and only 1 disastous "Monday Night Futbol" game last spring thankfully.
Geez, you're still quoting me, you really are that nerdy elementary school kid that got beat up all the time yet for no other reason than stupidity and you keep coming back for more, or to bother me at least. I was honestly hoping you weren't reading my posts as you're a complete waste of my time. Funny, I've never seen you listed as the owner of the cosmos or at least part owner, and yet you seem to think you know all of the cosmos financial happenings and act like you have access to all of the owner's financial holdings. Go fly away, far far away
It's pretty obvious from every one of your posts you try to take a jab at the cosmos and call them minor league or something else stupid like that, not sure why. If you don't like them, you sure talk a lot about them
This is probably going to be the biggest story going into next years play or one of them. Will Atlanta still have a team and if so how successful will it be and what will attendance be next season?? MLS is down a franchise which I really think is bad in the long run to take that hit for MLS, they don't need that stigma within a league still trying to bring in everyday fans. I can't see NASL staying in Atlanta either after next season, hate to think it will happen, but NASL might be down a franchise as well in a season or two.
