Watched a video where the chief mentioned that police were seeking possible video. You bet they are! "The entire DB is on the case, chief"!
We don't want citizens taking matters into their own hands. Best we in law enforcement do that for them...
If school administrators could foresee this kind of behavior coming from a hiring process they've set their career sights too low, they should either be successful psychologists or celebrity psychics. Maybe they just shouldn't hire hotties that the high school kids want to boink.
Dufresne is the daughter of a judge, as it happens. And I love this piece from the article: "the mother of three is under house arrest, and is not allowed to leave her home except for continued intensive mental health treatment, doctors’ appointments, and church." Yeah, because all the bible teachings have helped her so far be an upstanding person.
Even assuming that's true (and I don't think it's necessarily that simple), "immaturity" isn't necessarily the operating word here. It's possible they knew exactly what they were doing and liked the danger, it's possible they just gave in to a potent young dude. I knew guys in high school who were more sexually aware and mature than I was 10 years later (most of whom started in jr. high), so it doesn't surprise me that this kind of thing happens.
It's more basic than that. The immaturity is not so much the sexual act but not realizing that teen aged boy is not capable of keeping his yap shut.
Ah, got it. That could just be down to sheer naivete or stupidity. Because you're right, there's no way a teenage boy that's capable of engineering a threesome with two cute teachers isn't going to tell his buddies about it. I wonder whose idea the video was.
A small-school admin at a former teaching job said just this in the presence of two other teachers and myself about a candidate for a math job. She said he'd have to fight off teenage girls and once he did that, he'd have to deal with their responses to his rejecting them. They're like little pitbulls when they wanna be. A 10th grade girl at that school heard me jingling my car keys when I was headed to the Central Office for something or another on my planning period (my dad did that when he was about to go someplace- that's how I knew he was going somewhere, and I always asked if I could go) on my way to the stairwell and asked me if she could go with me. "Where ya goin', Mr. P?" "Downstairs" "Can I go?" "Downstairs?" "<huff sigh huff> Seriously, where ya goin'?" "Downstairs" "Mr. Peeeee!!!!" "No, you may not go with me." Now, I'm pretty good looking, but I'm not a Greek god or anything. I can only imagine what happens to teachers who are seriously attractive.
I was joking, but seriously, it's no joke. I can still remember in depth conversations evaluating various teachers in high school. And I know that when one guy actually did nail a young teacher a lot of us were pretty envious (but not of the fact that they got caught doing it in her classroom; never saw her again after that but it didn't make national news like it does nowadays).
I know of two guys who had sex with a teacher, one while I was in HS and another after I graduated. AFAIK, no one ever told to the degree that the teachers involved got in any trouble. The first teacher wasn't all that attractive in the face, but we all agreed she had a great ass and great legs. She was one of those women who was just this side of fat, but her exercise routine kept her waist slim and stomach flat. At that age, you're thinking about pretty much anything with a pulse, and the age factor adds to the appeal. I remember a very down-to-earth-in-a-language-that-everybody-here-can-easily-understand convo I had with another male teacher and a male student about a stupidcrazyfine woman who taught biology. He told us she was his dream, and that he "had to find some way to get her to talk to him". We told him he "ain't nowhere near ready for that, son, she'll have your nose wide the ******** open". He told us that was okay with him. Not surprised. She was completely professional and didn't let him get close.
"carnal knowledge of a juvenile" Why is that so hilarious-sounding? Or is it just cause I'm not English-speaking?
Yeah, the word 'victim' doesn't seem entirely appropriate sometimes, does it. It's the issue of the relative power of the other parties in the relationship that makes the difference. I suppose.
The employers can hire only from a group of those who apply. Teachers need to have more formal education than the students, and up to the postsecondary level, they do. If we want to make sure that they're smarter (as we define "smart") as well, we'll have to pay more. The saying "If you can't do, teach" doesn't come out of nowhere- it's rooted in our lack of respect (and compensation) for public-sector professionals who work with people rather than with things.
He was raped. Same as if he had been grabbed, spreadeagled, and ass-raped by a prison gang. Well not really. Rape isn't rape isn't rape, as it turns out.
Feeling sorry and being a victim are two different things. I don't feel sorry for him, but do recognize that he is a victim.
Yup, with you on that, not exactly the same, but similar (not fit-looking, but relative to other males around here, and it is pretty noticeable when students interpret authority/confidence versus not having that on display).
